I own a bosu, half gym ball. Is it possible to do a full workout on the ball? I'm 198 lb, 5'5''. I had a knee reconstruction many years ago and can't do too many lunges, but everything else ok.

yes it is but what is your main goal?

Hi Adrian
I am 5'9", with a very slim upper body but chunky, cellulite butt and thighs.I weight train 6 times/cardio 5 times (mainly spin classes) per week.
My top half is getting even slimmer but my bottom half seems to be getting bigger! I do lots of squats-could that be the reason?

What type of exercise workout should I follow to build up my upper body and slim down my lower body?

Diet/Nutrition - I eat lots of fish (non meat eater) and veg but little carbs.

Do I need supplementation, like CLA to aid fat loss?

Thanks for all your help!

Adrian Bryant

cla helps but you don't HAVE to have it. you lose weight all over as you lose weight so as you keep losing weight your lower half will get slimmer also and...

doing the squats is fine but you are building sexy muscle under the fat which is making you legs look bigger but as you lose fat all over your legs will get slimmer and reveal the sexy muscles you built

Thanks.....but don't really want to lose any more weight on my upper body.

Can you recommend any of your workouts where I can build up my top half and slim the lower half?

Thanks again

I have one question... I've seen reports that drinking 2 % milk aids in weight loss. My question is will I get the same results with drinking soy or almond milk?

May 28, 2012

Adrian Bryant

it'll help because it's good to have in your diet but don't think any kind of milk is a magic bullet

I DON'T UNDERSTAND ONE THING WITH CARDIO...
I have a little fat to lose. I have a normal BMI and my bodyfat is 25% and I would like to go down to 20% bodyfat.
I have my diet checked and I eat 1500kcal/day
my diet is about 160g protein, 140g carbs and 35g fat.
I start my day by swimmingi in intervals for 40-50min very intense, before breakfast.
Then on the afternoon I go the gym and walk on the treadmill for 90min, quite fast (6,5mph speed).
I do this 6times/week.
But my question for you is;
Is swimming a good option for fatloss in my case??
I've heard so much about swimming is a good exercise but not that good for burning the fat off.
I love to swim, but I don't want to waste my time in the pool if it's not any good for my fatburn. In that case I rather consider doing som walking in the morning instead (?) :(

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

May 25, 2012

Adrian bryant

swimming is good but what is your weight and height now?

May 27, 2012

Natalie

Thank you for your reply.
My weight is 72kg and my height is 178cm. I would like to go down to
60-62kg.
I keep my diet on 1500kcal and i burn about 800-1000kcal a day but still it seems that my body just don't want to give in! Stubborn fat!
But on the other hand I started for just 3 weeks ago

So swimming is good for bruning fat? I could change to walking instead, if that's better for fat burning.But if it's not a big difference I rather swim.

Thank you!

I forgot to mention that I eat 80% of my carbs in the morning (oatmeal) and the rest of the day i eat apple, chickenbreast/salmon/tuna, alot of vegtables, proteinshake, fat free milk, cottage cheese and walnuts.
Those are my food ingredients....

May 28, 2012

Adrian Bryant

although swimming is good, I think you need a more advanced weight loss plan like this one here to get rid of your stubborn fat

Hi, I'm a 48yr old menopausal woman who weighs 147lbs. and am 5'6". I've gained 17lbs in 3 years and it won't go away. I'm not much of a dieter but, eat well. Low on the sweets, no soda, alcohol or fast food. Some but, probably not enough water and moderate exercise (weights and cardio about 2-3x a week. I have insomnia from menopause so, I know that doesn't help. Most of the weight is around my middle. I tend to be pear shaped. Got any ideas?

I'm a 17 year old female that weighs up 380lbs. I'm off to college next year so losing weight would somewhat be a fresh start for me.
My goal is to lose 190lbs by 08/13. Do you think that is possible?
I'm not a very active person but I'm willing to put in work to get the results.
Could you possibly give me advice to get me motivated?
My biggest fault is chocolate, I LOVE chocolate x_x. Is there anyway I could still have my chocolate and still lose weight?

I am 5'2", 15-years-old and use to weigh 264lbs or so i am now between 235-240lbs. I lost this weight over a 6 month period and it would fluctuate by about 3lbs. I have been eating healthier food and cut out all junk like chips, sugar and i will never touch soda again, my diet focuses on fish, veggies and brown rice and i workout as often as I can which is around 1-3 times a week and i walk about 2 miles a day but i noticed since I lost weight that it all came off my face and breasts with little from my stomach (problem area) and I now have wrinkles, stretch marks and saggy skin (arms, neck, breasts). How can I tighten the skin and reduce my pot belly and my thunder thighs?

Hi Adrian,

It's my second day following your workout, so understandably, I'm still struggling with it. :p Will there be a problem if I split up the 2 x 10 minute workout like this:

Morning = 5 minutes
Afternoon = 5 minutes
Evening = 7 minutes
Evening = 3 minutes

I do 5 minute stretches before starting each of those exercises. It's just that I get headaches if I go over 7 minutes. :(

Very grateful for any advice you can offer!

P.S.
I never mute you out! I love hearing your encouragement in your vids!

May 10, 2012

Adrian Bryant

You can start out like that but make sure you make an effort to do a little bit more each time until you are doing the full workout

Hi Adrian,
Thank you for all the useful information you make readily available for all of us to take in. I am 32 and weighed 380lbs about a year ago, I am now down to 314 but after hitting a plateau at 320 I finally broke it by trying calorie cycling but it looks like I'm at another frustrating plateau at 314 and I can't seem to break it. I work out with weights, cardio, crossfit and I play basketball once a week and league/tournament softball 3 times a week as well. So, I'm very active but for some reason I can't seem to loose anymore weight. Do you have any suggestions?
