you can lose 5+ pounds doing exactly that but I doubt you'd be able to stick to the 1000 calories very long.
Go to the top of this page and do one of the safer plans where you will be ale to stick to the plan and keep the weight off for good

Im a 5'10 240lb male looking to be about 200lb. I have a muscular build covered up with some fat. I take in 1800-2000 calories a day. drink 2 -4 liters of water a day . 25 -45 grams of fiber a day. do 40 grams of protein in the morning.(part of the 30-30) take in 150-200 carbs a day. Im doing your burn 5 pounds a week workout. jump curls,squat press,both together, jumping jacks,skisteps, I do the workout 3 times with 15lb dumbbells, then 1, 15 minute elliptical hiit training session. I do it every other day.
I weigh about 244lb. why am I Gaining and not losing weight

I am 16, and am I would say very active, I cheerlead, and love to work out but I gain muscle perfectly. I have big arms and strong abs and big strong thighs, strong back and shoulders, but I have a bad eating diet which is why I can't lose weight very well, I need a diet I can follow and will work work, I need to lose belly fat mostly, a little off my thighs and arms to make them really defined, I want my whole body defined. I've tried for two years. I hope you can help me. I am 5' 3, and weight about 155, i don't look fat but I surely notice my body not tight.

You have great weight loss plans and I really appreciate you are offering this for free. I am struggling with losing weight but unfortunately I have petallafemoral syndrome and I get grinding noise when I make a knee bend. Do you have any weight loss plan for a person who has knee issues? I do not know swimming so I have limited ways to lose weight. I will really appreciate if you can point me to good and fast weight loss exercises with minimum use of knees. I am also trying to strengthen my leg muscles to overcome this issue but they won't help me lose weight.

Yes. I am working with physical therapist to strengthen my muscles. I want to learn some workout exercise that has minimal use of knees and maximum use of other body parts and can help me establish my weight loss goal/

OK I am going to ask this question in the short version. I am 27/female and five months ago maintained 5/4 at 114 pounds. I kept this up through exercise and eating well for all of my twenties. I naturally had "chicken legs," which didn't bother me. What bothered me was having a flat butt and I started a training program that got me what I wanted....I had an ass I always wanted but didnt except a pair of two fat thighs (muscle or not) coming with the package.) I know women can't bulk up unless its genetic LIARS! I was only on this program for three months and I hadn't used weights before that time over five pounds so this can happen ladies. Now, through my ups and downs of trying to lose the muscle, "lightly jog," get rid of excess water I am 125, miserable and just want my old body and old thighs back. Help me! I drink the water, eat right, take supplements, and workout every day. Have tried everything and cant get my body from six months ago back. I now also have a really ugly ass from trying to stay off my squats because I tried to increase the reps and that didn't work either.

Dear Adrian,
I am 29, 5'7" and 254 lbs with 48" at waist. In a physical in April 2012, I have to do 3.2 miles in under 18 minutes, 40 push-ups in 2 minutes and 10 chin-ups in one minute.
As of now, I do 3.2 miles in 28 minutes, just 3 push-ups in one go and not a single push-up. My desirable weight is 157 lbs and I have to go for a weigh-in in March-April 2012. I am non-diabetic, no BP issues or anything.
I am aiming for 50 lbs weight loss by April. How do I do that? What do you suggest for push-ups and chin-ups? i dont have access to weights and such equipment, so i am constrained to do free hand exercises at my place.
Ideas?

Hi Adrian you site is awesome! I weight around 180lbs and im 5'9" 29 year old and i just began weight training 4 months ago ..apparently i'm overweight and need to drop down up till' 155lbs to become normal..anyway, my question is..should i follow your "lose fat training" first then build muscle after i lose all the unwanted weight or just follow your "get ripped (for fat guys)" routine in the first place. please advise. thanks!

my friend told that i will sweat more if i concentrate hot steam of boiled water in my fatty parts after doing jumping jacks and its true i sweat like pig when i do that
does sweating means that i m losing fat

Sweating does mean you are working out hard enough to lose weight but just simply making yourself sweat by being in a hot area will not cause you to lose weight

Hey,
I am looking to start a weight loss, tone up, sculpting and shaping plan. I would like to do pilates to get the slender long lean victoria secret model look without the boxy waist. How do I do this?
Also I would like to do callanetics to tone, shape and whittle my waistline while also doing cardio, belly dancing, hulahooping and weight training. My problem is that pilates is said to remove one's curves giving them a ruler shape which I absolutely do not want. I would like to be a long lean hourglass/vase shape with sufficient /ample hips, thighs and behind(curvy). Should I lose weight and do pilates to get the long slender limbs etc and then build curves in all the right places?
Can you give me a schedule on which exercises to do when and how often to achieve this? Eg: pilates 2x a week, callanetics 3x?etc.

Hi and Happy Holidays! I need your professional advice please; On Jan 29, I MUST pass a officer fitness test which includes running 1.5 miles in 16 minutes, bench pressing 50% of my weight and doing 24 sit-ups in 1minute. I have been doing alot of your workouts and have lost a good amount of weight within the last few months, however I am having trouble increasing my running speed and bench press. Right now it takes me about 15 minutes to run 1 mile and that is when I am pushing myself. Right now I can bench 87 pounds. But I have no problem doing 30 sit-ups in 1 minute. By the way I am a 29 yr old female, 5'7, 240lbs. Your advice would be greatly appreciated, I really need to pass this test and am willing to work hard for it!!

I have been doing the workouts on this page for a month now and only lost 1lb the first week, nothing more. I eat below 1500cals everyday and once a week treat myself to a day where I don't count anything I eat.
I push myself very hard and my body feels sore and tired this last week but I've still got my workouts in. I can't do cardio twice a day because of work.
I am 5'1, 120lbs. I want to be between 110-115lbs.
I'm so frustrated. Can you help me get there?

1 pound a week is GOOD at your current height and weight b/c you are not extremely overweight so you can't expect to lose more than 2 pounds a week when you have less than 15 pounds to lose
