Why 99% of all diets fail

There's no doubt that 99% of all diets work but the main reason why 99% of all diets fail OR YOU FAIL is because you can't realistically expect to stick to some of these diets! - for example…

There is no such thing as the "Best Diet" &…

Don't listen to all the hype saying…

The best diet plan for you is…

The diet that doesn't even feel like you're on a diet where you can actually stay on the diet plan long enough to lose weight and keep it off forever - for example…

A lot of people have used high protein diets like Atkins & the south beach to lose weight and keep it off permanently but if you're the type of person who craves carbs then you can't realistically expect to stick to high protein diets for long periods of time so It's not that 99% of all diets fail…

YOU pick the wrong diet plan for YOU so…

If you know you will not be able to drink lemon juice all day, not eat after 6pm, eat no carbs, only eat cabbage soup all day or keep up with all the rules of a particular diet then don't pick that diet if you want to lose weight and keep it off permanently and…

You need to pick the diet you can realistically stick to and…

Remember this…

I am an eighteen year old girl who weighs 76 kilos. I want to lose 15 to 20 kilos really fast but I hate dieting because I can't seem to stick to a diet, especially because when I go to school and see all the unhealthy food everyone else is eating I hate to stick to my super healthy food. I am willing to try dieting but would like a plan more focused on excercise. I row in school and have some kind of excercise six days a week. I can add to this with more excercise at home. What is a good plan for me?

I'm nearly 50. I weigh 200+lbs and I've been trying for over a month to lose weight. I'm mildly active (kids, shopping, housework, errands...)I eat between 1250 and 1400 calories a day and I record EVERYTHING I eat. Why am I not losing? According to the math, I should have lost at least 10 by now, but I haven't. What can I do?

Hi Adrian,

Just wanted to say I really like your site -- you write very sensibly and I think it's great that you are both encouraging and realistic about your recommendations. Keep up the good work!

Separately, I think it's pretty depressing that 10-14 year olds are begging you for emergency weight loss advice. What are your thoughts on this?

I would like to lose 20-30 lbs before September. I'm 19yrs old weight is 190 and height is 5'11. I looked at the how to lose 20lbs fast post that you but I don't want to take any medications. What can I do? I was thinking of starting with the master cleanse for 10 days then transition to not eating carbs twice a week and maintaining 1500 calorie diet the rest of the days and working out 5days a week. What do you think?

It does not matter when you eat as long as you are eating the right amount of calories to lose weight
