16 Ways to get motivated to lose weight

1. Just Play the Video Below…

2. Keep on saying "So That"

Ask yourself "Why do I want to lose weight" and after you come up with a reason why… Just keep on saying SO THAT.

For example - Why Do you want to lose weight…

Can you see what's happening here?

The more times you say SO THAT = the more and more motivated you'll become to lose weight.

3. Play the "If I Do" and the "If I don't game"

To Play the "If I Do" and the "If I don't game"

You're going to take 2 sheets of paper and on the top of 1 sheet of paper you're going to write…

"These are all the GOOD things that will start happening to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or even 2,5, or 10 years from now
IF I DO Take action now to lose weight" and…

Then you'll fill up that sheet with every single GOOD thing you can imagine that will happen in the near & distant future If You DO take action now to lose weight so for example - you'll probably write things like…

On the top of the other sheet of paper - you'll write…

"These are all the bad things that will start happening to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or even 2,5, or 10 years from now
IF I DON'T Take action now to lose weight" and…

Then you'll fill up that sheet with every single BAD thing you can imagine that will happen in the near & distant future If You DON'T take action now to lose weight so for example - you'll probably write things like

Once you have filled out your IF I DO & If I DON'T sheets…

You want read these sheets every 3-to-5 days but… Every time you feel like giving up on your weight loss goals or dreams to Look Good Naked – Just take 10 minutes and read your IF I DO & If I DON'T sheets and I guarantee you…

STOP & take at least 30 minutes to fill up those sheets.

4. Make a bet with yourself

You can make a bet with yourself or other people to GUARANTEE that you will lose weight & Look Good naked and…

Here's some examples of bets you can make to make sure you will REALLY want to lose weight or else!…

The more extreme the bet is or the more you have to lose = the greater chance you'll actually reach your weight loss goal and think about like this…

If there was a chance you could lose your house, your car and all your money if you did not lose 50 pounds in 10 months (which is a reasonable amount of time) then you'll probably end up losing 50 pounds in 7 months or less!

5. Make excuses to win & Don't make excuses to lose

STOP making lame excuses NOT to lose weight like…

It's easy to make excuses to lose and be a loser (and a loser is someone who doesn’t even try) but…

It's also easy to make excuses to win and be a winner and a winner is someone who gets off their ass and gives at least 1% so for example…

Use that time to Look Good Naked and…

Even if you are a single parent with 8 kids and 3 jobs - That is sill not an excuse to give up and be a loser because…

I got a weight loss plan here and a quick 10 minute fat loss workout here you can still use to lose weight and If you still don't feel like working out or if have any other excuses…

Look at Tips #1 & #2 again and…

6. Let nothing stop You From losing weight!

What's stopping YOU right now at this very moment from losing weight and looking the best you can?

Write down everything that's stopping you from reaching your weight loss goals and then beside each thing that's stopping you… Make a plan to eliminate the problem so For example…

DON'T EVER falsely believe that your genetics are keeping you from losing weight

Write down whatever's stopping you from losing weight and then STOP IT before it makes you even fatter and…

The only reason why you shouldn't lose weight is because you simply don't want to lose weight.

7. Set deadlines and then reward yourself

For example… If your big weight loss goal is to lose 100 pounds in 10 months… Then you can set 10 deadlines where you have to lose 10 pounds every month for the next 10 months so…

Let's say on the way to your big goal to lose 100 pounds in 10 months you actual lose 12 pounds in your 1st month… You can reward yourself by buying yourself a new dress or going out to a movie and please… DO NOT reward yourself by sabotaging your weight loss plan or diet by eating stuff that's going to put weight back on and remember this…

The greater the reward is you have planned for yourself the higher your motivation will be to lose weight

8. Set deadlines and then punish yourself

If you don't meet your deadlines you have to punish yourself - so for example…

Let's say you miss your deadline to lose 10 pounds a month by losing only 9 pounds… You have to punish yourself by not watching TV for a week or by not going shopping for a month and…

Along with the reward (see motivation tip #6 above) and the punishment for meeting and not meeting your deadlines…

You can be sure you'll stay highly motivated to lose weight or whatever else you set your mind to.

9. Post a Picture Everywhere

Post a picture of what you want to look like after you lose weight everywhere you can so If you were skinny in high school… Post your old high school pictures everywhere and if you always had a weight problem or if you don't have any pictures then…

10. Get a magazine and…

  1. Look at the sexy body of the person on the cover.
  2. Get a picture of yourself and cut out just the face and make sure you're smiling in the picture.
  3. Take your smiling face & place it over the face of the person on the cover.
  4. Then I want you to do something crazy.
  5. Show the magazine cover to everyone you know & tthis is how you will lookell them this is how you're going to look real soon.
  6. If you're real crazy… Tell the person you have a crush on… This is what they'll miss out on in the future if they don't start going out with you now.
  7. And if anyone gives you that Yeah Right Look when you tell them… Use that as extra motivation to prove them wrong.
  8. Make copies of the magazine cover and post it everywhere in your house and make a special note under it saying…
"I will get a sexy body just like this cover model and when I do… I will laugh in the surprised faces of all the people who said I could never look like This"

11. Hang out with skinny people

There's a saying that goes like this… "If you hang out with 9 broke people -- You'll probably end up being the 10th broke person but…

If you hang out with 9 rich people -- you'll probably end up being the 10th rich person and the same goes true for losing weight.

Hang out with just skinny people and you'll pick up on their habits for staying slim.  You don't have to dump all of your overweight friends - you just shouldn't let their bad habits influence you.

12. Talk to your future self

Imagine how good you'll look in the next 1-to-6 months from now with all the good things that will happen to you from #1 & #2 above and Every time you feel like cheating on your diet, not working out or just giving up…

STOP & Ask your future self what he or she did to look good naked and I bet you they'll tell you…

If that doesn't work…

Imagine your future self out on a date with that man or woman you always wanted to be with and ask them those same questions and…

If that doesn't work…

Go back to #1 & #2 and imagine any other favorable situation where your future self can help you give 100% & never give up until you Look Good Naked and get all the good things from #1 & #2 above.

13.  Remember the CBA's

Hi Adrien,
I'm 25 years old and last year after I had my 2nd daughter I weighed about 186lbs. I got a personal trainer and joined a boot camp and lost 50lbs in about 9 months. Thanksgiving and Christmas came up of course I couldn't help, but eat "bad" food and on top of that I stopped working out. 7 months went past and I gained 18lbs, but in May I joined back with my old boot camp and started eating clean and lost 8lbs in 2 months. Every time I see the scale coming down, I eat bad during the weekend and by the beginning of the week I'm almost back to square one. I would like to lose at least 15 more lbs. It doesnt seem as easy as last year with losing weight. I work out for 1hr alternating between HIIT, weight, and resistance training at least 3-5 times a week. Any suggestions?

I'm a bit confused about my body...

I'm 23 years old, 5"4 at 135lbs - the same weight I was when I was 19, after my first year in college not working out, binge drinking 5 days a week, and eating at a buffet 2 times a day every day. I had gone up to 135lbs from 118 in about 10 months.

Since I lost weight to 128lbs, which didn't take too much effort, I have never gone back to eating anywhere near as badly. On a diet of 1,200 cals a day, drinking once a week, exercising a 4-5 times a week, I got down to 122. But since then I had relaxed, and the weight crept up on me very slowly... over a year and a half.

But now I'm back to 135 - even though
I've been eating clean, healthy (lots of fruit, veggies, home cooked meals, lo carb, little processed food), and between 1,000 - 1,500 calories a day and moderately exercising 3-4 times a week since August! I've gone back down to 129, but just one week of eating 1,800 - 2,000 cals a day - but paired with LOTS of outdoor activity - makes me gain it all back! And no, I haven't lost any inches off my waist, so I highly doubt it's muscle.

What gives? Is my metabolism shot because I'm old? I don't get it.

Admittedly, I allow myself alcohol once a week on Friday or Saturday and have 2-3 cheat meals (not in large portions, though) on the weekends. But I did the same a year ago when I got down to 122, and it didn't cause any problems for me.

If I loose weight, I probably won't be able to stop and I might end up in hospital. Last time I tried I ended up loosing 37lb and avoided hospital but next time I might not be so lucky.

Hi Adrian, my problem for motivation is that I love food, I am a cake decorator/dessert baker so I love to make food, sometimes I do get really motivated and go on a strict diet, exercise and eat really well, then for some reason I slip up by either going to a restaurant and I really want a certain pasta, or I go out and I am starving and there is nothing else to eat so I just eat whatever is there, or the most common problem I face is, if I have a cheat meal - I get it, it's okay but then I think to myself, we'll since I've had one cheat meal, I will go to the store and have chocolate and chips etc then I won't be able to finish all that junk, so I leave it for tommorow, since I don't want to waste that junk food, I eat it that day too, but since I had to eat the left over junk, I ha e already wrecked that day too, so I might aswell get more junk, and it becomes this cycle an I don't know what to do!

Hey, I'm 21 and weigh 220lbs. I know that's too much and I'm 5"1. I know I cant lose all of it real fast. So, I want to lose it in 10-12 months and I want to lose 100-120lbs.

I need help in a bad way! I'm 21 with 9 month old baby.. I'm always exhausted and when I'm not I'm dealing with a fussy baby. I am 21 years old and 5'7" and I weigh 226:-( I have been walking five days a week for two months and I have gained weight:-( it's not that I eat to much or don't exercise but it all started when I graduated high school. Hey, I'm 14 and I'm 140 pounds. I was up to 160 last year. What I can tell you is that you can eat any food you want (but fruits and such help more) if you don't have more than 2000 calories per day. If you have about 1500 calories per day than you will slowly see results. Also, if you exercise for 1 to 2 hours every day 6 days a week, you'll see results much faster. Some exercises I can recommend are the vacuum pose (look it up if your not shore) run for at least half an hour and 20 situps 10 pushups when you first wake up in the morning. It sounds like a lot of work but the results are amazing and soooooo worth it!!!!!!!! I hope I helped and good luck because I know how embarrassing it is to carry all that extra weight!

Im 30 with 3 kids, work night shift and only get about 5 hours of sleep when I work, do to schedules. I know I need more sleep but that is not possible write now. My last daughter is 9 months and I am still struggling to loose my last 20lbs. Please help I have tried everything. I workout when I actually have the energy, 2 or more times a week. I'm not really sure what other exercises to do to target my hips, legs and butt besides cardio. I also have a lot of cellulite on my legs which drive me crazy. I'm 5'5 175lbs. Thanks

Hey,

Great article! I'm writing because I find it hard to stick through the pain and the lack of socializing that comes from having weight loss goals. I'm 23, 5"4', 155 lbs and I've been doing ballet, floorbarre, boot camp workouts, yoga and other dance in order to lose weight. I've also been eating really clean and at 1300 cal a day. I'm starting to see results (I was up to 164 at one point) but I can't go out with people anymore and doing such hard physical work feels too painful and demotivating.
The issue with going out is that people usually go out for food or drinks and that doesn't figure into my diet at all. The pain is mostly soreness of lats or intercostal muscles or abs that makes it super annoying to sit or stand or just relax. I try to take hot baths with Epsom salt but it doesn't do much. Do you have any tips for coping?
