Somebody once said, "Winning isn't everything – it's the result of everything!".
So – do you want to 'win' at achieving your goals? Or do you not mind if you lose? Either way you know; it's YOUR choice.
If you want to win – and if you're reading this then I'm pretty sure you do – then you KNOW that taking action in all the areas that count is what you're also going to have to do.
But taking action genuinely and for as long as it takes is easy to talk about – not so easy to do. I can sense you nodding already! You've been there before maybe!
Taking action in the right way and for as long as it takes means you WANT something – you want it BIG and you want it as SOON as. Am I right?
Now if you're thinking, “Well, I maybe might do some day, perhaps” then you're not serious and you sure won't win – not at anything; except possibly mediocrity. There's a LOT of people do well at that these days.
I'm certain though that you want to get the win and to do that you've got to have a clear idea about what you want and you've got to seriously want it. Well, do you?
If it's 'make more money' then how much and by when? If it's to ‘lose weight fast' then how much and by when?
It's not rocket science – and you don't need a whole heap of high-tech gadgets, wizardry or equipment to make what you want happen. That may help – or make it easier (maybe) but it isn't necessary. But something IS necessary.
A seriously rich guy called H.L.Hunt (same finance-league as Bill Gates) gave his advice about being successful. He said:
So, if that's true then first up is deciding what you (really) want.
If you really want to lose some weight then, as I just said, how much and by when? And don't say, “40 pounds by next Friday!” because, you see, I don't want to 'rain on your parade' here but you've got to be realistic. You can lose pretty much any amount of weight on a weight loss diet if you truly want to but if you're seriously over-weight and have never done exercise before you're going to have to 'train' your body to be able to do the necessary work and to eat the necessary foods so that you CAN lose the required weight.
Just losing the weight you see, isn't enough. You will need to know HOW to lose weight and want to be genuinely HEALTHY in doing so and after you've reached your goal-weight. You'll also want to look great too won't you – as well as FEEL great?
It's all very well losing the inches you currently hate but not at the expense of looking like you lost inches but put on years!
So – maintaining the idea that you want to lose weight, get a clear image (picture) of what you're going to LOOK like when you achieve that goal-weight.
You see, there are two things you're surely going to need to succeed and that's 'will-power' and 'imagination' but BY FAR the most influential of these is 'imagination'. You've got to be able to SEE yourself as you want to be – as you WILL be when you reach your goal.
Will-power to keep to your program is vital, of course it is but it simply will not work if you can't daily, every moment in fact, IMAGINE what you will BE, FEEL and LOOK like when you reach your final destination.
Hold that image constantly in front of you and it will draw you towards it meal-by-meal, exercise-by-exercise and day-by-day; guaranteed.
Let's face it – you are in large part responsible for how you got to look and feel like you do NOW! Aren't you?
So, if you did that and don't like it – you can do the alternative and get excited about the 'new you'! Can't you? Well of course you can. You can do anything – you WANT – and can constantly imagine!
Right then; decide exactly what it is you want and create the image (and hold it daily) of how you are going to look and feel when you achieve this goal.
Next up will be deciding what you are genuinely prepared to give up to reach this goal. I mean, if you really want to lose weight fast but love eating six packets of chips and 4 cream-cakes every lunch-time and aren't prepared to change that eating habit then you clearly love the eating habit more than the goal! Obviously!
This is where your imagination comes in. If you constantly imagine the 'experience' of eating cream-cakes as you're preparing your new healthy-meal then you're imagination will powerfully over-ride your will-power – no contest. Your imagination will win every time.
The only way to change that is to change the focus of your imagination – I mean, it's without doubt the greatest 'nation' in the world – isn't it? The 'image – I – nation'.
So, when you think of the 'old' habits, change the image to the 'new' picture of you and how you will (already do) look and feel.
But assuming you are serious about losing the lard then, in spite of the 'pain' of giving-up 'fatty' habits you'll hold the image of the 'approaching' new-you in your mind and follow the programme to get that new body. It gets closer every moment – if you maintain your purpose.
Now you know that, the next thing you will need is to get some advice about how to eat properly, what to eat, when to eat it and what exercises to do to maintain the weight loss and inch-loss which will get you to look and feel fabulous!
Once you have all of this sorted you will simply require a time-table for it all and that will demand you setting time aside so that you can make it all WORK!
Great – now you're nearly there – but maybe not quite.
As a famous writer once said when asked about how he managed to write so many words each day he said that it was always the START that was difficult. Getting started can be tough, especially when you're endeavouring to create a new set of habits. Once you've got 'the ball rolling' as they say, it's a LOT easier to maintain the momentum.
One way you could help yourself here is to tell a close couple of friends what you're planning to do (they might even join you!) and say when you're going to start and what you're goal is and when you're planning to achieve it.
Ask them to sort of (nicely that is) monitor your progress and that way they back you up on your quest to look and feel fabulous and knowing they are going to be seeing you regularly and checking on your progress, will give you that little extra boost you might need to get started and to keep going.
Every little bit will help, as they say and what you might find is that they will be watching very carefully YOUR success with a view to maybe trying it out for themselves once YOU have paved the way to a new and more fantastic you!
So – you want something? Decide exactly what it is and imagine you having it or being it – imagine it in detail and decide what it will take to get it. Get the right advice from those who have 'walked-the-walk' and been and done it etc, organise a list of priorities and set them into a programme.
Then – WORK it!
Tell a couple of friends you know who are sensitive to your needs and care about you and only look forward from that moment into the future you have imagined will be yours!
