hi im leah, i weigh around 130 - 132 ( i either go down or up everyday but never over 132) im 13 years old and i want to get to 110 - 115 and if i get to that maybe to 95. any other suggestions besides making the drink. and id like to be 110- 115 in 3 - 4 weeks. anyone tell me your advice for me thanks!

Hi Leah,

My first question to you is, how tall are you? Because of your age, and the fact that you are still growing, it's important to keep in mind your height when considering what is a healthy weight.

I am 5'5" and weigh 120. Now that's pretty average for me. I'm working to get to 115 and when I reach that and maintain that for a while, I can work on getting down to about 109 which would be my ideal weight. Although for the majority of the population, they will say I'm too skinny at that point, but as long as I'm still maintaining health, I don't care about their opinion. The truth is, humans use to be much thinner and extremely strong & healthy before there were ever such a thing as preservatives and processed refined foods and pesticides and that lovely one "high fructose corn syrup".

I recommend looking on line for the average weight for your height.
No matter what it says, know that you can take about 10 lbs away from that # & you'll still be in good shape.

Also, you have to take into account your genetics. Are your parents overweight? At 13, it's probably hard to buy your own groceries and enforce that you eat the right amounts of the proper foods. But there are things you can do to be in control of what you are putting in your body.

To kick of your weight loss, start with a cleanse. You can look up any # of healthy natural cleanses. Some are done while fasting, some are done while still eating healthy. Most however will require you to cut out meats and carbs for a few days at least. Those are difficult for the body to digest & make it difficult for a cleans to take affect. And no matter what, remember to drink at least 1 or 2 glasses of water each hour especially during a cleanse.

Depending on what kind of access you have, you can also drink pure Coconut water or coconut Aloe Vera juice. All are extremely good for you. Coconut water is high in electrolytes and potassium and Aloe Vera is high in fiber. They do have some natural sugars but they are not complex so the glycemic index is pretty low meaning your body can handle it pretty easily.

I could walk you though a lot more and I could write endless pages on steps and ways to get you started.

But first let me know if you like what I've written so far & if we get some more factors answered, I could probably help you shed all the weight you want to lose.

I am Claire, 28 and I weigh 177lbs and would like to lose 10lbs in 4 weeks. I work out quite intensively already (I have hip problems - need replacements in 4 years) but forgetting that I manage to do:

Monday: legs bums & tums 45 mins burnt about 500 calories
Monday: 20 mins on stepper burn about 250 cals +
Tuesday: Intermediate pilates 60 mins burn about 180 cals
Wednesday: Body jam 60 mins burn about 600 cals
Wednesday: Advanced Spinning 60 mins burn about 600 cals
Thursday: Advanced Pilates 60 mins burn about 200 cals
Friday: Personal Training 60 mins 500+ cals
Saturday: Aerobics 45 mins burn about 300-500 cals

I have added in the last month, the legs, bums, and tums, body jam, advanced spinning and aerobics.

How many calories should I eat to lose the 10lbs in a month and to keep me going through all the exercise?

Hi Holly,

I don't usually respond to these things, I just came to this site to get the diuretic drink recipe and saw your comment and had to respond. Please listen carefully, 14 year olds do not get extra skin. You did an amazing thing when you lost 25 lbs., and your mom may have mentioned extra skin because sometimes older people, especially people who have had children, have to worry about extra skin, but at age 14, extra skin is not a concern. If you really are bothered by the rolls, then consider doing 30-45 minutes of exercise a day that combine cardio with light muscle building so that you can tight the stomach area. Also, make sure you drink about 3 liters of water a day and limit your sodium intake to 1500mg daily. Remember, even a banana has some sodium in it, so keep track, because sodium can cause the belly to pooch out a little and can cause the body to hold on to water weight and fat. If you are shooting for a big goal like a great body, then go for it and try to be as perfect as you want, but remember to educate yourself about what it takes and don't let others who aren't so educated give you untrue information. You can definitely get rid of those rolls, and it doesn't have to be because of school, it can be just for you. Good luck!

hun your 16, you weigh what your supposed to, and i bet you get that alot but its true. do not try to loose anything. there is a fine line between skinny and healthy, and you will cross it and it wont be good for you. thats why most diest stuff it ment for ppl 18 and older.

It is common for a long distance hiker to burn 7,000 to 9,000 calories a day while under full pack. You *could* do that for a few weeks, and it would be fun. However, if you can't plan a 2 week backpacking trip, there might be another way. If you have a nearby gym or access to a tread mill at home, rent a pile of movies, fill up a backpack with heavy books so that it weighs 25-30 pounds, and walk on the treadmill while wearing the pack for 8 hours a day for 14 days straight. Watch the news, or the history channel, or whatever you like, so long as you keep walking. Eat a normal 1600-1800 calorie diet. If you can log 20 miles a day under full pack, you'll burn off about 2 pounds of fat each day. 1 pound of fat is 3,500 calories. Water weight doesn't count, and you'll likely add muscle too, but that's okay. Good luck with your long turn goal.

it flushes out excess water weight.

the amount of "water weight" you lose depends on how much excess water weight you are carrying around so if you eat right and exercise then you may not have that much excess water and/or...

60oz may not be enough for you for your weight - use the flat stomach tool here

Hi, I am an amateur fitness buff. Not as fit as Jillian but getting there
So : under no conditions would she recommend a fluid only diet-this is to be taken while leading a healthy diet and exercise regimen, whether low carb, low calorie-that is up to you.
Also, it's meant to shed you off excess water weight you might have for various reasons. For us women it might be hormonal and in general, water can be retained due to excess sodium intake, alcohol, lack of sleep or exercise. Or dehydration -excess caffeine or alcohol can have this effect as they are diuretic substances causing the body to retain water.
Now for the juicy part: water retention can impede fat loss to some extent-this is because the water molecule is necessary to keep the fat cell intake, to put it in layman's terms. this is also why water is lost first in large quantities when starting a low cal regimen.
so indirectly, this will aid your fat loss-as long as you have a reasonable calorie deficit.
without a deficit, you will still lose a lb or so as long as you are retaining water-but it will be only water weight mind you!
as for where to find stuff in the UK, I am moving to Oxford next year and I've done my research as to where to find fitness tools readily available in the US. Mostly, the answer is amazon but unfortunately, unlike the US version, amazon doesn't have a grocery subdivision. this is because it competes with Tesco -which offers an online grocery branch. Most health foods are available there but for specialty stuff like whey one needs to either find nutrition/sports related stores or find them online. UK is better at offering online shipping options, it seems-so fo rexample dandelion is possible to find. just google your location -Oxford, UK and then dandelion root and 'puchase' and you will come upon sites and be able to compare prices.

I have a herniated disc at L3,L5,and a slipped disc at L1.Now my problem is quite simple,I can not slug and bug anymore due to this injury.I had a fairly flat stomach from heavy lifting,but I`m not allwed to do this any more.Is there anything I can do about this pregnant looking gut?

No as far as I know I don`t retain water.I go to the bathroom quite regularly:for both.I do smoetimes have trouble holding my urine.I`ve tried every exercise I know of to stop this.I eat well,but not a lot.I take vitamines and supplements,drink plenty of fluids,etcetera.I do not know why I can`t lose this gut.Also I do a lot of walking even though the doctor(almost all)have told me with my back I should not do this.But my argument is I`ll stiffen up!

where in the uk can you get dandelion root teabags? in holland and barrett they sell dandelion (flower ) teabags clipper brand and dandelion root capsules, but no dandelion root teabags.
Also i found cranberry concentrate in there ,but the juice is a drink,not a juice..

You can boil some of the water and steep the tea bag in it. Add the tea, 60 oz of water, lemon juice, and 100% juice cranberry juice together and drink all of this in one day. This is weak tasting, not like you are drinking strong tea. The next day you start all over and do it again and drink 60 oz more of the tea. It will not hurt to drink this for longer than 7 days. I drink a mixture of black, green, and dandelion tea every day with lemon juice. You do still eat healthy food with this, it is just an additional step to take to help rid your body of toxins and extra water weight. The best weight loss trick is to drink around 1/2 oz of water total a day per lb of body weight. Many times we are thirsty when we think we are hungry and reach for food.
