You guys are idiots. Your body does not starve itself and hold on to fat nor gain weight. Do you see fat starving children or fat anorexics? No. Starvation mode is a giant MYTH. Your body doesn't start starving until you are very very low in body fat. SMH.

I can say for certain that drinking black coffee (no cream, no sweetener of any kind) made me gain significant weight. It took me a while to figure out that caffeine was behind my significant blood sugar crashes. I'd drink my coffee, eat my healthy, protein-packed breakfast, and BAM -- within an hour, I'd be shaky and confused. It got to the point that I was trying to outpace my blood sugar crashes by eating every two hours. I forgot what normal hunger felt like, because I could never allow myself to get to that point. Not surprisingly, I put on several pounds that I still need to lose, but coffee is highly addictive. I'm still struggling with this. ... My husband also has blood sugar crashes with black coffee, and his body type (tall and skinny) is completely different from mine. I wonder how many people are overeating because of their caffeine consumption.

Why is there a difference between brewed tea and iced tea? I brew my tea (3 bags to 12 cups) then pour it over ice.

We are all deficient of the most important mineral for the human body- magnesium, which is responsible for 700-800 processes in the human body. Where are we getting our magnesium? Not our food! Our soils are depleted. Where are we losing even more magnesium making symptoms even worse!!?? you guessed it- COFFEE! If you read this article you will discover more information that may change your mind on that extra cup of coffee:

Last year 2015 I started consuming coffee, Nescafe, obviously increased my metabolism, giving me the energy to do more walking to work and on lunch breaks, brain activity (increased work productivity) and exercise (all this within work hours), the side effects were no sleep at all no matter how hard I tried, headaches due to insomnia. I did not understand until I realised that I was addicted to caffeine after consultation with my doctor. I now limit my intake of caffeine. Yes, the results with weight loss were incredible.

I'm so dependent on espresso. I drink approach to much. It's propensity I know as I quit smoking, can't drink liquor because of drug and love espresso. I need to stop however following a couple days of no espresso I miss it like a closest companion. I'm similar to a heavy drinker with espresso. Could utilize some assistance here! I know it's bad to drink this much espresso.

I used to be a big coffee drinker, and I exercise everyday, eating healthy trying to lose some weight.. But nothing, I haven't touched coffee in a week and within a week of healthy eating and doing workouts, I literally lost 7 kgs!! so I believe coffee holds back the weight loss and keeps it their...

This is really true. I dropped a size while staying away from coffee. When I drink coffee even though I am moderatively active and eat only nutritious food theres no weight reduction. I think coffee hinders weight loss.

I'm so addicted to coffee. I drink way to much. It's habit I know as I quit smoking, can't drink alcohol due to medication and love coffee. I want to quit but after a few days of no coffee I miss it like a best friend. I'm like an alcoholic with coffee. Could use some help here! I know it's not good to drink this much coffee.

Instead of going cold turkey, try and minimise the amount of coffee you drink slowly - like maybe not have one at dinner unless you are working out afterwards :) It should get easier :) Good Luck!

April 26, 2013

I utterly love my coffee too, but I try to only have one per day now, and not more. I think I'm unusually caffeine sensitive and this may be a contributor to holding onto/gaining weight. One day I hope to quit this habit, but I can't contemplate it really. I try to have my coffee like the Italians - never after midday. I also understand that it takes about eight hours for the liver to break down, so a coffee before midday shouldn't disturb sleep :)

Coffee has so many more benefits than you are letting on, take a look at this article:

Really as long as you drink coffee with no additives the benefits far out weigh the bad things coffee does, which is almost nothing.

I'm on a coffee diet.. 1 coffee at breakfeast, lunch, dinner. I don't eat food, and i drink at least 2 liters of water a day.. i've lost 3.7 kilo's in 2 weeks so i actually think coffee is good for you.. plus drinking it only makes you hungry for a couple of days after that you get use to it.. plus i dietrecian (i dont no how to spell it) told me that coffee is actually healthy and good for your body.. it fights of some sort of cancer in women. This can't be healthy.

March 20, 2013

I totally agree...

April 26, 2013

Umm the coffee isn't making you lose weight, you're gonna lose weight if you're not eating. What is wrong with people?!

October 14, 2013

Actually, your body starts to starve itself when you don't eat...further causing you to gain weight.

For real. Coffee has nothing to do with her losing weight.

is cocoa better than nescafe?

January 14, 2013

Nescafe is highly processed, as is Dutch cocoa. Perhaps try as 'natural' a cocoa as you can find? Without the cocoa fat or sugar it might not taste how you would expect though. In smoothies with a banana or a nut butter etc it is a delicious combination. I make a fruit smoothie with cocoa nibs which get blended up pretty fine and it's enjoyable.
