How to firm up your flabby arms
Stop your arms from jiggling when you wave at people

I want you to look at the video below of a very common exercise most people use to work the back of their arms (triceps)

Notice in the video below how my elbow is fixed at a 90 degree angle at all times.  Most people let their elbow dip and the more your elbow dips the less work your flabby arms get.

And one last thing before you play the video... ONLY MOVE YOUR ELBOW JOINT. Keep your shoulders and wrist joints locked in place.  The more your shoulders and wrist move the less work your flabby arms get.

You have nothing to worry about

Everybody loses fat in different places as they lose weight and as you lose weight...

You'll lose flab off your legs which will look firmer as you keep losing weight

Adrian Bryant | 06.15.09 - 6:19 pm

Hi Mr. Bryant,

I am 21 years old and have really flabby thighs and arms. I currently weigh 174lbs and of those lbs 40% is body fat. That is what my group trainer says. I am currently enrolled in FresnoBootCamp (FresnoBootCamp.Com) and have completed 2weeks of it already. I plan on staying enrolled for about a year or even two. Fresno Boot Camp is an outdoor fitness camp and I attend it every morning m-f from 5:30am-6:30am. In this camp we do a combination of weights/cardio and my shirt gets really soaked in sweat when I come home [=. I also jog an extra 2 miles in the evening m-f and rest on weekends. Although it has been two weeks I am amazed that my arms seems to look and feel firmer however my thighs remain flabby and the same. Everytime I look in the mirror I loose hope that I will ever have nice defined sculpted legs. I am not exspecting fast results but I just want to know if my thighs will ever be capable of firming up and look sculpted/defined if I work har at it. Will a year do it? Or even two? I just want to know if this is possible. Thank you for your time and this is a wonderful website! [=

Your fat is not turning to muscle it's just that...

You gained some muscle (firmed up your arms) and the fat is still on your arms making your arms look bigger but...

Once you lose flab/fat - your arms will get skinny

Adrian Bryant | 06.15.09 - 6:13 pm

can i get thinner arms bmi 19% . i'm already doing the bigger butt routine ...which is working thanks to you . but i want my arms thinner . i was lifting weights but seems like fat was turning into muscle not cute for women . i want to be more of a pear shape women . and i dont want my arms like angela bassett. thats nasty.more like beyonce or halle berry

this flabby arm workout will help and I'm not an expert on this but...

usually in cases of huge weight loss -surgery may be the only option and wish your friend all the luck so she can avoid surgery

Adrian Bryant | 04.23.09 - 5:39 pm

Hi there,
Excellent website.
Please can you advise something. I have a friend that lost around 100 lbs in less than a year and now has sagging skin under the arms and the normal areas. Will weight training help her get firm or will she need to undergo plastic surgery. She has exercised with powerplate in the past but very little results. do you think weights might be her miracle? any advise really appreciated.. your routines & tips are great.....

I have lost about 130 lbs and kept it off over 8 years. The only thing that makes me feel ugly is my arms. I have flabby arms. I would like to know how many of the arm exercises do you do and how often should you do the exercise? I know you should change your weights when you feel like the exercise is doing you no good. I would love to have arms that I am proud of and not be ashamed of.

Shermaine,

What's your weight & height?

It's probably just stubborn fat but whatever FAT you have on your body - you can't get rid of it with a special exercise...

Only diet & exercise will remove arm fat

Adrian Bryant | 04.06.09 - 6:11 pm

Im 16 years old and my build is quite small except for my arms. They're very fat and i tried doing all the workouts to lose fats at my under arms and i even went on a diet, like eating only fruits and oatmeal for lunch and breakfast and non fried food for dinner. My whole body slimmed down except for my arms. It makes me look like the incredible hulk and im really irritated by the fats. How come it wont go away?

Shermaine | 04.06.09 - 5:53 am

anonymous,

NO - mainly diet & exercise get rids of flab and YES...

IT's good to do after the dip workout

Adrian Bryant | 04.05.09 - 10:33 am

i know this exercise gets rid of flab in the back of your arms.

But does the chair bicep curls and bicep 21s get rid of flab in the front of your arms while toning them up?

oh and i almost forgot. is this good to do after the dip workout?

Dee,

Do this workout here for the arms you want and...

Don't worry about getting bulky because women don't "bulk up" as easily as men do and...

You would also have to eat more (which you won't) to add bulk but...

The main reason why the workout you are doing is not working may be becasue of the amount of weight you are using so...

Don't use the same weight everytime and it may be good to start off with 5 pound weights but you want to progress to heavier weights to see results

Adrian Bryant | 03.23.09 - 10:10 am

Hi,

I'm 5'1 and weigh 48kg...i am petite and lost weight about 6 years ago and but has mainted the new weight i go to the gym 2-3 times a week i dont want to lose weight but my arms are flabby and i do bench dips & work the tricep by holding the weight behind m head...i really want toned slender arms without looking bulky, but its just nor working and help would be appreciated

Dee | 03.23.09 - 8:11 am

Sofia,

You asked if i do this exercise am i going to look all-muscled like a body builders?

Not with this workout since no heavy weights are used plus women don't get big as easily as men do and remember...

fat loss plans will help you lose flab more than these arm exercises

ADRIAN BRYANT | 03.15.09 - 2:29 pm

I have pretty muscled triceps but my arms are also very flabby.if i do this exercise am i going to look all-muscled like a body builders????:|

Adrian Bryant | 03.13.09 - 5:53 pm

Will I be able to improve the tone of my skin on my arms etc? On my arms the skin is becoming 'old' flabby, crinkly! I'm 54 and unfortunately have had to take alot of prednisalone for asthma. Could it be I'm dehydrated? Can I get back lovely arms etc. It's depressing me!!!!

Hi Adrian.
I need your advice. Im not necessarily fat *136lbs but I carry a high body fat % (35%) and the fat is mostly at my arms and thighs. Pls give me ideas on how I can lose these unsightly lumps?

Zeezee | 03.09.09 - 2:44 pm

robyn,

YES - 2-to-3 pounds is a good weight to start with but eventually (which will be very soon)-

You may need to move up to 5-to-15 pound weights to make the exercise worthwhile

ADRIAN BRYANT | 02.25.09 - 8:49 am

Just chanced on your video....glad I did. I walk regularly and am just about at my "fighting" weight. My query to you is, I have 2 and 3 pound weights that I walk with, alternately. Which, if either of these, should I use for your featured exercise? And by the by, thank you.

robyn | 02.25.09 - 12:25 am

elizabetha,

YES - to truly get rid of arm flab = diet & exercise so you need to go here and pick the best permanent weight loss plan for you

Losing arm flab = losing weight with diet & exercsie

Making arms less flabby or jiggly =doing these arm exercsies using light-to-moderate weights and...

Women have a less chance of getting BIGGER muscles because or lower testosterone levels

Adrian Bryant | 02.16.09 - 7:40 pm

will these 3 arm exercises build up muscle n will i look too mucsular and masculine? beacuse i just want too lose the arm flabs.i dont want huge muscles

elizabetha | 02.16.09 - 2:05 am

Sonya,

Doing arm exercises will firm up and tighten up the arm flab and depending on how much you currently weigh or how overweight you are...

As you continue to lose weight the arm flab will go away also so basically...

You can only burn off arm flab with EXERCISE & diet (notice I all caped exercise) and the arm exercises help by firming up or make your arm flab less "jiggly"

ADRIAN BRYANT | 02.15.09 - 10:41 pm

The Ninja,

what's your weight & height?

You probably just need to keep losing weight and your arm flab will go away because...

People lose weight in different areas when they lose weight so the arm fat may be the last fat you lose

So im 14 and im losing weight but i cant get rid of the arm flab i have, Its really getting on my nerves and i REALLY dont want muscles, I want slim arms. Is there any way you can help me?

nagasreelu,

There's really no way to lose fat in just one area of your body and the fat in your arms is just stubborn fat and that may be one of the last places you lose weight from so what you need to do is keep doing whatever you are doing now to lose fat and YOU WILL get to a point where you'll lose arm fat also but...

Since you said you are not overweight - you can try this advanced weight loss plan here or you can just stick with your trainer - I'm sure he/she will give you intense workouts to make that stubborn arm fat go away

#73
I have very bulky, flabby , fat arms which are not in proportion with my body.I am a little over weight but my arms are very huge in comparison to my body.Especially my upper arms are a very bulgy.I want to get rid of it within a month. But i am scared that the rest of my body may lose fat except my arms because they really look very bad. please help.Could you please suggest me how to loose the fat at arms in a months.

#64
Hi, im 21 years old and i think that my arms and legs are genetically flabby. even when i was in high school, I am not that fat but i still have these big arms. But now that i am in college I've gain wait and i want to tone them up but not be bulky because i want to lessen the size of it, I'm on a diet plan and trying to workout on the gym as frequently as i can like 4 days a week. How do i do it in the gym? Personal trainers cost a bit much in the Philippines so i just look on the instructions and follow it. I have been working on my abs triceps, biceps and even on the chest. I do lighter on the areas that i dont want to build too much muscles. I just want to make sure what im doing is right, i dont want to make my arms look as big as it is now. Thanks for your time reading this, I hope I can clear out the issues on my head. Thanks!

Don't do it everyday - only do it 2-to-3x a week to let your muscles rest and eventually...

You'll need to progress to heavier weights using the same or less reps

Natasha C,

If you're a little overweight then probably the only thing you need to do is lose more weight to lose arm flab but no one can predict where you'll lose weight from but usually...

Arm fat is not as stubborn as belly and hip fat so what you can do is...

Keep doing intense training to lose weight and if your arms are truly "flabby" the weight will come off and you'll lose arm flab but...

If your arms are mostly muscle - you just need to take a break from doing arm exercises to decrease the bulkyness

#57

vickycowley,

What do you mean by bingo wings?

If you're SURE your problem is more of a saggy "skin problem" then the flabby arm exercises may help tighten up your skin but...

If you have some flab or fat causing your bingo wings then diet & exercise (NowLoss.com) will burn that off and make your arms smaller

#55

Hi There, I am new to this sight but i'm loving it already.

I am 22 and did judo for 10 years, i had extremley large muscles for a girl. when i stopped judo, the back of my arms (bingo wings)started to sag and i have now got bingo wings.

i have still got muscles combined with baggy skin.

It makes me really self concious as i'm fairly happy with the rest of my body.

How can i get rid of my bingo wings and make my mucles smaller as well so i have normal sized arms?

Thank you in advance

#41

Hello?! I like your site really much, especially the way you are giving replies to all the questions you get asked.
And I have a question. That is how long time it will take me to make my upper arms become as I want, to the normal size. My tricep is not so big, but rather big. Please tell me? I'm gonna start doing the arms exercises you recommend today, but I want to know exactly how much time will be needed and based on that I'll be sure about if I'm really doing the work correctly. Thanks a lot for your help. I'll be waiting for your reply. Bye for now!

Do you think I can see the result I want by only doing this ONE exercise? Or do you think I should do other exercises you recommend?

Hey.
I've shrunk on eating food(dinner and lunch), and I eat asian food because people said it has variety in it, and it's very healthy. I also work out at a gym, however, I'm not losing weight, and it's strange. I understand that you are to gain some weight due to muscles, but it's been a month, and I'm not losing any fat, weight, or pants size. I was wondering how long it usually takes for a person to lose weight that works out. And am I doing something wrong?

suru,

Depending on your strength levels - 2.5 pounds is really not challenging enough to cause any changes so you need to at least use 5 pounds and another thing you can do is...

Try this similar arm workout here and make sure you use a weight that's not too heavy and not too light so you can see results but...

The main point I'm trying to make here is that you need to use heavier weights than 2.5 pounds to see results

Hello i have just turned 15 and in the last 7 months i have succeeded in losing 14kg(30lbs).
My weight is now 60kg(132lbs)and height is 162cm (5 ft 4) and i am still not satisfied with my body shape.
Since losing weight, i have obtained flab underneath my arms, on my stomach and worst of all: on my thighs.
I have tried all the exercises possible to get rid of this terrible flab but it just won't go away!
I am afraid of overdoing myself though since lately i have been feeling more tired even though i'm getting 9 hours sleep!

Do you know any ways to lose this extra flab of mine?! It looks disgusting and while my friends are able to wear mini shorts, i am stuck wearing stupid shorts and dresses past my knees.

You can't target fat loss but Go here and read how to lose belly fat and just apply those same principles to losing arm fat

Both my lower and upper part of my arms have so much fat on them. I do a lot of push-ups, but I don't think thats enough. Having my arms this huge, is making me feel bad about myself. This is actually going to be the first time i try that exercise with my elbo. Do you have any other ideas on how to get rid of this fat on my arms? ...please help

febz,

20 reps tells me the weight you're using is too light making whatever exercise you're doing too easy so try using heavier weights that'll challenge you for 4 sets of 8-to-12 reps and remember...

Weight loss By going to NowLoss.com will help lose overall body fat and arm flab plus...

HAve you tried this arm workout to lose flabby arms

#31
My arms are very large with floppy fold on my upper arm. This has been a problem and because I am so ashamed, I always wear long sleeves. I do 2 sets of 20 speed bobs and arm curls daily yet nothing is happening. HELP!!!!

Sam,

Are the 8 pound weights heavy for you and how many reps are you doing?

If your arms got bigger using 8 pound weights - it may be because the 8 pounders were heavy for you but all in all...

I don't think you're doing anything wrong and these arm exercises basically...

Help firm and tone up your arms while burning some fat and to see a decrease in size - you may still need to burn fat by seeing the best way to lose weight fast here but...

Please answer those questions above so i can help you better

#25
I have been doing these excersies and more for triceps and biceps with 8 pound weights...

Is that too much? My arms are REALLY big and i seem to be turning all fat into muscle with very little decrease in size. Should i switch to 5 pounds?

kay white,

You arms won't get bigger while doing these exercises to tone your arms and to lose most of the 'flab' in your arms...

Try this basic weight loss plan to lose arm fat and overall body fat.

#23
I also have BIG flabby arms. I am scared to exercise them because I am afraid that they will get bigger like a man's arms. Will this exercise make my arms muscular, because I don't want that. How can I shrink them down in size? I don't want to look like a linebacker.

HELLOKITTY FAN,

Do the angela bassett arm workout or Do this flabby arm workout and as for the weights...

Use a weight that's going to challenge you - don't pick a weight that's too easy and don't pick a weight that's going to compromise your form

#21
I have really how can I say jiggly/floppy arms and I try to hide them, about how long will it take to get my arm toned? Also, how much do the weights have to weigh inorder to do the exercise?

Is it advisable to do these exercise at maybe 100 times for each arm a day? (Seperating into 50 times in the morning, and another 50 times in the evening.)

I've been doing the arm exercises, but I don't seem to be working the right muscles. My muscles at my back, near the arm is aching. Is it possible that my shoulders are not locked? Also, how long will it take before results show?
