PIRLANTAA,

the weight should be heavy enough for it to challenge you for 8-to-12 reps for 3-to-4 sets.

I can't give you a definite amount of weight because every body is different but generally...

5 pounds is a good start for TRUE beginners, 7-to-10 pounds is good for most everyone and 10+pounds is good for advanced people

#35

How much should it wieght for it to work? And if I do it daily 20x each arm..when will I eventually see results?

Thank you for answering btw

phenelope,

You get rid of FLAB or FAT or extra weight with diet and/or exercise (cardio) so...

YES - it is possible to get rid of arm flab without cardio but let me tell you this...

Cardio + arm exercisses will help you keep flab off your arms forever plus they'll be firmer

#33
Hi, is it possible to get rid of flabby arms without doing any cardio exercises?

Denice Ann,

Yes - you can get the same results using those wrist straps as long as they give you about the same kind of resistance the dumbbells do

#27
This is so much help ! Thanks ! I have just started my new healthy lifestlyle and am adding new excercises each week. My question is I have a bone disorder in my wrists that makes it hard for me to hold on to the dumb-bells. Can I get the same effects from using ones that strap onto my wrists ? I have the approval of the doctor to do which ever I choose, it is just easier on me to not try and hold onto the dumb-bells.

Jenna,

Yes - the 5 pound is perfect for you now but once it gets to easy buy the 8 pound dumbbell

#25
Hello,

I went out and bought a dumbbell. I bought a 5 pound one because it was the heaviest I could hold comfortably. Is 5 pounds ok? The 8 pound one was really heavy for me.

pureblkgal,

Yes these exercises will help but the main thing you need to do to make your arms look better is keep losing weight by doing what you were doing to lose weight

My arms are extremely huge, as I have a great deal of weight to lose(at least 75-100 lbs.). I've recently stated walking alot, and switching up my diet and I have successfully lost about 15 lbs, and gone down one dress size. But I feel that my arms are the size of a 400 lb woman, which I am NOT! Will these exercises help? I know that when I reach my 100 lb goal, skin will be a problem, but will these exercises help with tighten the skin of my arms? Please help. My arms are so embarrassing, people stare when I wear sleeveless clothing.

Help Me Please,

Do 1 of these 2 workouts below...

1. Workout routine for women to get rid of flabby arms fast

2. How to get sculpted arms like Angela Basset had in the Tina Turner movie

I think this should answer all your questions as to how many reps and sets to do but you're welcome to contact me for help anytime.

If I follow the exercise shown in the video, how many sets of how many lifts should i do? And how often should i do this a week? Also, would you know how long it would take on the average to fix my arm problem if I follow your regime. Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.

Luke,

Do one or both of these exercises...

1. How to get bigger arms & chest muscles without weights

2. The fastest way to gain muscle mass in your arms & chest

and keep adjusting the weight you use until you reach the level of muscle tone you want.

#14
I'm trying to build up skinny arms as opposed to tone up flabby arms. I'm not looking to be body builder size, but more like a toned lightweight boxer (Amir Kahn for instance). Will I have to do different exercises to these? Is it a case of toning up what little I do have, and then muscle size will increase naturally through repetetive training?

Linda,

You don't want to use light weights - Use moderate-to-heavy weights that'll challange you for 8-to-12 reps.

Think about like this - If you can carry on a good conversation with one of your friends while doing this exercise then maybe the weights you're using are to light but...

Let's say a friend of yours is talking to you while doing this exercise but you really can't pay attention to them becasue you're focused more on doing your 8-to-12 reps then the weight you're using is fine.

i hope this makes sense but if it doesn't - just contact me again for help

#12

Kat,

If you void light weights and use moderate to heavy weights for 8-to-12 reps for 3-to-5 sets... I would expect to see visible results after your 4th-to-5th workout and...

You should only do this 1 exercise twice a week but...

Do this arm toning workout to get faster results

Hi Adrian,
I lost 53 lbs and I am trying to get rid of my flappy arms. Can you advise me on how many pound weights I should use to follow your arm exercises. I have herniated discs in my back so I do not want to use too much weight that would pull on my back.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.

My son is 15 years old. He needs an exercise to help tone his upper chest area. Right now he feels as though he is "looking like a girl with budding breasts".
Please advise. Thanks.
