Here's Why I Don't Count Calories
(I know, BIG Contradiction) but listen, Let me back up and tell you what I eat in a typical day.
MEAL 1
Between 12-2pm
- Family pack of TUNA +
- ½ bag of RAW broccoli and MAYBE 1-2 Large RAW Carrots +
- Unlimited V8 OR… up to 20oz of blueberry, black cherry or pomegranate juice for the rest of the day.
MEAL 2
Between 4-7pm
- 2-4 Scoops of Protein Powder OR... IF I'm not so full from meal 1, I may just eat more tuna or canned chicken.
- More Raw Broccoli and Carrots.
3rd Meal
anytime after Meal 2
- This is my snack time or "Give into my cravings time"
so,
- I'll eat whatever I can find in my house which is usually popcorn, chips, chocolates etc. but by the time I get to MEAL 3,
- I'm so Full at this point,
I’m not hungry. My hunger was dead since Meal 1.
- Honestly, Sometimes I skip MEAL 2 and go straight to MEAL 3 because,
Eating MEAL 2 is harder to finish than an actual workout!
For MEAL 3 I'm allowed to eat 'AD Libitum' which is a fancy scientific way of saying as much as I want but again…
The cravings may be there but there's only so much (OF ANYTHING) you can eat after having a Natural Gastric Bypass.
I average about 1500-to-2500 calories per day doing this and again… Sometimes After MEAL 1 or 2 I have to force myself to eat so, THE BIG QUESTION is,
Will This Work For You?
Probably not.You probably hate TUNA, You could be a vegetarian, You may be allergic to carrots, V8 probably grosses you out, etc. →

Lose Weight & Keep it OFF eating foods you have no problem eating but,

Protein Kills Hunger
- Protein (and the fiber in the raw veggies) speeds up your metabolism because is so hard to digest.
- Actually, up to 30% of the protein calories you eat are burned off during digestion.
- So, the 300-calorie pack of tuna I eat is REALLY ONLY 210 calories.
- But its best to eat a Low-Cal / HIGH protein source. That's why I usually eat seafood (tuna, salmon, shrimp or albacore).
- Yes, you can eat a steak or ribs for your MEAL 1 & 2 and get the hunger killing and metabolism benefits but the calories in those are way higher.
The RAW veggies expand & sit in your stomach for LOOONG Periods of time shutting down hunger.
- Again, you can get the same belly filling effect with a large pizza but that's only after you've eaten 1000+ calories worth.
- Eat just ½bag of broccoli (5-10 pieces) or a head of broccoli and you're full off of just 50-100 calories!
Here's the Main Point,
You can eat anything you want and lose weight (if you're under 2000 calories) but if you eat mainly unhealthy sugary/salty foods then you're going to make it harder to lose weight and keep it off ONLY because you're doing nothing to lower your hunger & cravings.
