hi adrian, i lost all the weight i wanted to lose, i now do 64 flights of stairs daily m-f, 13 down, & 19 up, is this an effective exercise to lift & make my butt bigger. i already have a big butt, i just want it lifted & plumped.
it seems like im still losing inches in my hips, which i dont want., & I would like to stay at a 42. But what exercises would you recommend me to do in addition to my flights to get a more rounded plumped butt? or are the flights going to give me a smaller butt?
my measurements are 34-26-42. i will like to keep these measurements but build & tone without losing any more weight.

Adrian I'm confused. I am military and back in Aug I was 209, now i'm 171-173. I'm working out but I don't look the way I want to. I want to come back home from the deployment I'm on with a bangin body for myself and my husband. Having this body would really boost my confidence and that's what my husband craves. I'm 5 foot 6 in. and my major body issues I have are my back and butt. I want the fat creases gone and my butt to sit up on my back. You know the booty I'm talking about. I got booty but it's going down south. It seems to me that the interval workout is very intense for you so in your case...
You are doing a great interval workout but remember...
As you get into better shape (which you will fast with intervals) either decrease your rest time of slow 3mph walking and/or increase the speed over 7mph for your hard part

Hi Adrian, love your site. Is this kind of interval training acceptable? I walk for 3mph for 3 minutes then I alternate between 1 minute of anywhere between 5.5mph to 7 mph. Sometimes I'll walk 2 minutes at 3mph to catch my breath. I usually do this for 30 to 54 minutes. I really need to lose a lot of body fat. I am 5'2 and weigh 200 pounds and I would like to lose 20 to 35 pounds by August. Please help!!!

Well at 129 pounds you are probably not overweight for your height so in that case you need to be patient because it takes longer for NON-OVerweight people to lose weight

Hello Adrian,
I've recently gotten back into the gym, paid out the butt for a trainer.
She has me doing 45 mins on the tred-mill. Then she has me in this section, thats all benches for the whole body. she has me doing 3 sets of 12, of each excersize. (Am Sore as hell- Can barely move from the pain)
Other than that, Its been 2 weeks of this, when should I expect results, do you think?-
I went and bought that whey protein stuff, it doesn't taste that great, but its easy to chug down, so I've been drinking one of those bfore each of my meals.
Small portions of course, and drinking 1 liter of ice cold water a day.
I've weighed myself twice, and I'm still 129 lbs exactly, no change. I hope I start losing weight soon.
I'll keep you posted on the progress. Thanks again!

I don't know too much about fasting diets because I don't recommend them simply because...
YES - you may lose weight REAL FAST but you'll gain back all the weight you lose and more also very fast after you finish the diet and...
THe fat burners + fasting really won't help any extra but...
A fat burner may help suppress your appetite while fasting to help you stick to the diet and you mentioned CLA...

Then i had this question about fat burners, do they work during a cleansing/fasting diet? i mean if i'm not eating anything solid, and drinking only water for a while, can i still go on taking them? an do they still burn fat? and if it's not healthy, can u explain why? they are something like tonalin original CLA or something if that's any use to you.

I have been working hard on getting my body back into shape. The arm exercises you suggest work great, the booty exercises are simple and work perfectly... but I have the same problem are that many women have and there seem to be few answers for this area; the lower belly between the belly button and the pubic area. I hate this little pouch but can't seem to get it to firm up. Can you make any suggestions?

since you near your weight loss goal - you need to do more intense cardio or intervals (NowLoss.com/i) at least 3-4 times a week and the other days you can do light cardio but for a full workout involving intervals

Hi Adrian, I have lost about 29 lbs recently doing the Weight Watchers diet and I am really happy with that but I Need to firm up in some areas & one particular is the upper arms. just eat a balanced diet of carbs, proteins with little fat and here's the thing...

I really need help!!! I am a 34 year old female, 5'9" and weigh 310. I have tried so many things to lose weight and the only thing that ever worked for me was to do low carb. Actually about 6 years ago I was able to lose about 45 lbs in 2 months doing the low carb diet and walking for about 30 minutes 5 days a week. I was able to keep the weight off until about 2 years ago, when I got into a very disfunctional relationship and the stress itself contributed to me gaining the weight back.
I am insulin resistant, which is why my doctor told me that low carb was the best way to go. About 6 weeks ago I finally got myself in the mind frame to go back to the low carb restrictions. And I have been following it exactly like I did before, only this time I am not losing anything! Over the last 14 months I have tried cutting calories, even cut them down to 1200 per day for a 6 week time period, and that didnt work either.
I dont know what to do anymore! My long term goal is to lose 100 lbs, but I would really like to lose some weight fast right now, I just dont know how to do it and dont even know where to start anymore. Please help me!!!

Doing flat stomach exercises (See nowLoss.com/flat) plus going on a diet and exercise will make your waist slimmer but if your waist is already 25 in. then...
You can expect your fat loss rate to be slow since you body fat percentage is probably low.

My question is pretty simple. I have a 26 inch waist but i do basically no exercise and I'm not on a strict diet. If I lose weight with cardio as well as go on a diet, can I get down to a 23 inch waist?
The reason I ask is, right now I can use a tape measurer to pull my waist in to 23 inches (it kind of hurts) but I know I'm really pulling in these tough parts of my body on my sides. Could it actually stay that way with weight loss through cardio and diet plus special exercises for my waist (like pilates and the stomach vacuum)?
I would really appreciate an answer as I will be going on holiday in a month's time and really want a tiny waist.

Intensity is relative to everyone and I don't know your fitness level but what you have stated is ok and let me give you this tip...
60 seconds of a hard part (where you run) and 75 seconds of an easy part is a good way for beginners to start but to really kick up the fat loss...
Make your hard part harder or make it so hard you can only do it for less than 20-to-40 seconds and make your easy part so easy that you have to walk REAL slow or just STOP and stand in place for 75 seconds but...
start off as you suggested at first and slowly increase the intensity level by running a little faster for less time and walking a little slower each time you workout

I walk at 5 miles/hour speed on the treadmill for about an hour everyday.
I am aiming to do interval trainings four times a week.
Will it be sufficient to have the same interval training each day?
For instance, do I have to vary my interval training workouts to lose weight faster? Or can I always stick to the example I mentioned below?
Here is an example of my interval training:
60 seconds 'running' at 6mph
75 seconds walking at 4mph
Is this alright? Is it high intensity enough?

What's your goal?
Weight loss or muscle gain?
Either way - it's not going to RUIN your goals if you don't skip the late night post workout meal
If you're trying to build muscle I would eat a regular meal and yes whey protein at this time would be good but avoid any sugar (like most people advise post workout) since sugar promotes insulin and insulin = fat gain but...
If it's weight loss you are after - forget the post workout meal and if you happen to be real hungry then just eat a normal meal but post workout your appetite should be decreased anyway.
You can try this exercise to make your calves look slimmer by firming them up

My Exboyfriend was a trainer, and he had me going to the gym 3x a week, doing Ab workouts 60lbs 25 reps, Rowing 40lbs 25 reps,leg presses 70lbs 40 reps, and the other two machines, I forget what their called, one was at 40lbs 25 reps, and these bars I pushed forward. Then the other was 20lbs 25 reps with my arms pushing up.
So okay, I was dedicated to this work out ALL winter, cause I trusted my EX when he said I would lose weight. But Oh my god!- I swear I got FATTER. The jeans and pants I fit into before I started working out, now don't fit me. *sobs*
Then I read something on Cardio Workouts, so I decided to try the work out. My Ex accompanied me, and put the speed on 1.1, and then only had me do that for 5 mins. I was extremely upset. Why only 5 minutes?
I really need to lose this weight. The more I up my dress sizes to these grueling work outs, the more my confidence is being squashed. Even the determination I had, to lose this weight is beginning to waiver.

YES -as long as you are eating the right amount of calories to lose weight then 4 or even 3 meals are fine but...
5-6 meals are better to take advantage of extra fat burning from the increased metabolism of eating smaller meals
You want to try to eat as healthy as you can or just foods from NowLoss.com/199 but it seems to me that the choices you are making are as healthy as you can get with your hectic lifestyle so in your case - I can let you get away with that but if you ever feel you are not progressing as you like... then you'll know it's time to make better foods choices and/or start packing healhtier lunches
You should at least drink ounce per pound of bodyweight a day and a 1 gallon or 2-to-4 liters shouldnt be a problem for most women and at an ounce per pound - most men will be up to 1-2 gallons anyway

I am eating 1200 cals a day. However I work as an assistant 4 days a week, therefore i cant split up my 'calorie allowance' through 6 times a day. I don't know off hand what to do for your situation since you are already lean and you obivously look great at that height and weight but since you are lean...
You may be retaining extra water or fluid in your ankle area.
Is your diet high in salt, too many carbs, and low on water?
If so - drink more water, cut back on salt and eat a balance of carbs, protein, and healthy fats plus...
Another cause could be swelling or edema around ankles in which a doctor will have to help you with that

i've recently started a healthier lifestyle to lose weight. down about 15 lbs in 5 weeks. for some extra fitness i utilize the stairs at work. i go down and back up 4 flights. 138 stairs both ways. i do this 4 to 6 times each night. sometimes i skip every other step to get some stretch in butt/thigh. it only takes a minute or so to do the 4 flights. do you think this is helping me at all, or am i just wasting my time?

Soreness is going to happen whenever you do anything new or haven't worked out in a while and with time - you won't get as sore anymore but...
You really shouldn't be doing HIGH intensiyt or hard workouts everydya anyway and you only need to do them 3-to-4 times a week and you may need 2 days off instead of 1 in between your workouts before you get your fitnesss level up to where you can do it with 1 day rest of back to back days but...
If you are sore and still want to workout to lose weight - just do a low intensity weight loss activiyt like walking at a slow pace for a long time to lose weight

you can leave out the jump squats (which'll do anyway in the fast weight loss workout) and the simple butt toning exercise for now and...
Foucus on doing either the fast weight loss workouts #1 & 2 or the intervals 3-to-4 times a week so it's up to you which one you do but a good start is to do a differnet ONE on Mon, Wed, and Friday 1-to-2 times a day like first thing in morning and again in evening and on the other days or at least 2 other days of the week...
You can do your walking for 75min.

any tae-bo tape is fine no matter what your fitness level is so you can start off with the advanced tape if you want to and...
if you get tired during the workout - either pause the tape and catch your breath or just march in place and Billy blanks will tell you the same thing.
I'm in good shape and I couldn't finish an entire tae-bo tape until my 3rd time without stopping and yes...
10kg or 20 pounds is possible but more realistically...
your first 5kg will come off fast but it's going to take longer for you to lose those last 10 pounds

Hello! I have a physical disability and am unable to do standing exercises. I've been doing low impact aerobics 3 times a week sitting in a chair. I also lift weights 3 times a week. I have just started to walk briskly during my lunch about 1.76 miles total. I get a little sweaty toward the end. It takes me about 28 minutes to walk the 1.76 mi. I climb the stars 3 flights back up. Is that really gonna have any benefit?
Also, I have been juicing ....trying to drink carrot apple celery juices throughtout the day and then eat a sensible dinner. I think I am going to try to drink reset shakes and followed by 8oz of the juice 4 times a day adding flax seed oil to it. Do you think this will have the same benefits as the 20 lbs in 3 weeks or do I need more fiber?

What's your body fat % - go here to check.
Usually guys need lower than 10% to see their abs and if yours is higher than 10% - you just need to diet & exercise more (see NowLoss.com) to lose fat but if your bodyfat is low...
Then you probably need to stay away from too much salt and sugar which causing blaoting in the stomach and you may need to drink more water like up to a gallon a day

I've been doing it for sometime now but my fat jus seems to hang no matter what i do from my inner thigh. First of all you'll be better off asking a therapist what you can do to stay active with a busted knee but...
You could try swimming and the only other instense fat loss exercise I can think of that does not require the knee is using an arm bike - go here to see how to use an arm bike and also...
Watch your diet by eating more weight loss foods (see nowloss.com/199) and by cutting back on what you eat.
I suspect that until your knee gets better - you'll need to focus more on eating right to get back to your goal and as always...

I am reasonably happy with the size and tone of my arms but I have an above average bone size -in a way this is a good thing as it makes me look broad shouldered etc. but it also makes my elbow bone (well, the little bone on your inner arm at elbow height) stick out. I have a very full schedule, work (besides my normal schedule, I'm on call 24/7 every other week), family, school, volunteer work, etc. I am curious as to what is the best combination of cardio and/or strength to do for the best results. Since I believe it is important, I have 30 - 45 minutes, 5 days a week for some type of exercise. In additional I can take 2 to 3, 10 - 15 minute breaks a day for light exercise during work. Should I combine both cardio and strength every day? Should I alternate? Reading is confusing because everyone seems to have a different idea.
I have a treadmill, free weights, stability ball, bosu ball, bands, and other small items I can easily store in a closet. So there are plenty of options to choose from at home.

Dear Adrian, I forgot to mention earlier that I also take lipo6 hers, the fatburner my highest weight was 366 April 1st so I lost without even trying. I started keeping track on April 16 and weighed in at 357 and thats when I started taken the fatburner.Now I'm 350 it keep going from 345 and then back to 350.Thursday will be the beginning of my 3rd week. dear adrian, I drink 72oz of water a day and I put lemon juice in it because I heard that it burns fat.Is there any truth to that?Also I started out doing protein& simple/complex carbs and I was losing but now I'm always on the go and dont always eat 5-6 small meals, but by the end of the day I had eaten oatmeal,2 fruits,low carb wrap,nuts& wheat crackers sometimes,atkins shake,and my dinner would be a protein,veggie,& a starch and in between I dont be hungry and by 7pm I dont eat anymore.I havn't been exercising alot but I do try for a few min. I do plan to do more. Does this sound ok to you because I feel confused.

Hi Adrian, Firstly, awesome site mate, so many good tips and useful info. Pleasing to know some of the crazy exercise ideas I had actually work, ie: handstand pushups. Secondly, I used to have a reasonably flat stomach, now it protrudes quite alot when at rest and I dont seem to have much tightness in it, although when I tense them I can feel the six pack but my abs always seem jelly like now not to mention I have a little flab around belly button area and love handles. I am extremely discouraged. My body seems to have been stuck for a very long time. I am 43, 5'6" and about 140 lbs. I am a realist and don't expect to be the size I was at 25, but would like to lose inches and 10 - 15 lbs. Last year, I had a one-on-one person trainer for almost the entire year. We worked out together 2x a week. Most weeks I added a 3rd strength training workout at home. In addition I did cardio (treadmill) 3-5 times a week for a minimum of 35 minutes (mostly intervals). I kept a food journal too, and my calories averaged around 1500 - 1700 per day. My eating habits are decent, but since I do not eat any meat, getting protein is a challenge.
After all of that, my body changed very little and I lost only about 3 lbs. I was so discouraged that I did very little for almost an entire month.
To add to my frustrations I have had digestive issues since I was 16. Since the "specialist" can't come up with an answer, I've been thrown into the IBS bucket. I am constantly battling bloating and pain. When I was much younger I went to the extreme of juicing and fasting. I felt fabulous, but I don't have the time or energy to do that again.
I am getting back on track with my diet and exercise, but need help. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong? I am sure I am not the only woman with this problem. So any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hi, one problem that i'm encountering in my goal for weight loss, is that i simply cannot keep track whether or not i'm losing weight. I do moderate to high intensity workouts, 6 times per week, and have a 30 minute cardio session 6 times per week [i dnt do cardio on the day, and the day after, when i work out my legs]
every time i check my weight on the scale, it says something between 203 to 210 lbs. depends on the time of the day, it tends to increase right after meals.
So my problem is: how can i possibly monitor how much weight i`m losin, when i'm building muscle [adding weight] and burning off calories at the same time?
it's been really frustrating, because i've kept this workout for 3 weeks now, and i cant see any real change.

1. the harder or more intense your workout is = the shorter it has to be like 20-to-40 minute intervals to burn fat or...
2. the easier your workout is = the longer like a 60-to-90 minute walk and to avoid burnout...
It's best to mix up the 2 by using a workout plan like this one here to lose 50 pounds

I'm 29, 5'3" and 174lbs. I have a medium body frame and most of my body fat is concentrated in the front and lower part of my stomach. Before I began having children I weighed 142lbs, which is not really ideal for my height but I was shapely with a nice waist and really thick, athletic legs like a soccer player. I have since birthed seven children, hence the belly flab! When I look in the mirror I can still see my shape underneath this fat so it's a lil motivation for me. I know because of my weight concentration I should eat foods as close to natural form and eliminate refined, processed foods. But as far as my workout regimen, should I work out in short(30-45min) high intensity intervals, or should it be long(60-90), moderate to low intensity to really hit that fat concentration? I'd like to lose at least 30-40 lbs and not have excess skin from losing too fast.

I've browsed for a while reading your advice. I have been trying the HCG protocol/with a VLCD (500 calories per day) I weigh 166 and am 5'4". I would really like to get back to 125-130 for a wedding in October. The HCG seems to be working but not like the other reviews on the internet are. I work in outside sales for my job and have no option but to eat out for lunch every day. With my work schedule and 2 small children I only get to exercise about 2-3 times per week and it is usually 30-45 minutes on an elliptical. Do you have any advice on what I can do to quickly get back to where I need to be? I really want to look nice for this wedding.

I need some advice. I started going to the gym and doing cardio to loose weight about 5 weeks ago. I have only lost 5 pounds. I have about 50 pounds to loose... what is the best way to loose pounds on the scale. I do feel a difference in my clothes, but the scale is what motivates me. Try this body fat calculator here - it's not as accurate as the caliper thing but it can give you a rough estimate

Due to a heavy schedule and busy lifestyle.. I have very little time left in day-light hours for physical activity, however I recently bought a Health Walker which I would like to use in the evening and perhaps as soon as I wake up.

THe only thing you can really do for a temporary fix is to increase your protein & raw veggie intake to deplete stored carbs flushing our water weight but even so...

Growing up I was always thin and active . Competitive soccer andsoftball, as well as basketball.
I have been in the gym and working out at home since age 13. I am now 19. I weigh 125 and want to know some ways to oomph my results. I am exremely flexible and have good balance so my body can handle the more intense awkward advanced positions. I just want to know a few things.
okay first of all,
I would like to have thinner legs while still maintaining muscle and definition. but i want to have a larger bum in the process and lose the little bit of meat that is on the outer lower region of my bum and thigh.
so i guess my first question would be.
1. What excercises should I do, and how often, to build a large large backside that is superlifted (Note: I am willing to work my ass off. haha)
2. What can I do to maintain thin feminine legs while maintaining a large bum? What cardio do you reccomend that will not burn off my bum but keep my legs in shape? Spinning? Running? I know sprinting is great for your bum but I noticed that my legs got beefy when I started up sprinting.
3.What is the best movement for getting your waist to have the perfect ) ; ( shape.
i wonder how it is that models such as marissa miller can have such a lifted round rear but still have these girlish feminine legs and flat stomaches--

about 12 months ago i gained a lot of weight during my exams. after that i started running 1500 meters followed by 2 sets of 2 different body parts 5 days a week(gym).i became big.5 months back i stopped working out as i had exams again. my chest muscles lost strength and all this ugly drooping fat surrounded my chest.since jan5., i have been playing 2 hrs of soccer every single day. my face looks sharper, my tummy has trimmed down and i feel better.chest fat has reduced but no so much and it looks really odd due to the dis-proportion.i vowed not to enter gym again till i get zero fat as i am scared that in case i have to stop going to gym again, i will end up with the droopy fat again.any suggestions about the gym dilemma and how to reduce the current ugly chest fat??

for jessica..my favorite love handle exercise is putting a 12lb medicine ball on the floor beside you in a sit up position. When you come up from doing a sit up (not all the way to the top) move the medicine ball from one side to the other. It's the only thing I can do to feel a difference!

I would not lift weights at all for 8 days and do cardio twice a day the last 8 days to win but...
Even if you did weights - it's still a very low chance of you gaining muscle weight because you are on a calorie restrited diet and it's usually harder for women to "gain" muscle

Here's my problem, I used to weigh 115 pounds but I looked like 108 pounds because I had more lean muscle on me than fat. my body % has always been low. A year and a half ago I got married moved to a different state and got super depressed. I didn't eat anything I just drank a lot, then I went from 115 to 137!!!! So I moved back home in November (almost 5 months ago) and I have been working my butt off 5 days a week to lose weight and I can't! I've been on a 1400 calorie diet, cut my sugar intake, and only eat complex carbs, protein,veggies, all that. Hey Adrian, I've been working out for a time, eating well (most of the time, though we all have snack days). But not doing as much aerobic exercise as I'd like. My real problem is my chest and my arms. I feel like I've hit the plateau...I'm going nowhere with them, they've been the same size for weeks now. I'm not one to give up, so I thought I'd seek help from someone who knows...any help you could give would be great!

love your site. I fractured my ankle and had surgery 3 weeks ago and now am very sedentary and on crutches(non-weight bearing on ankle for 6 weeks). Can you recom- mend some exercises that I can do to stay firm while sitting or in a position where I don't have to worry about losing balance and putting weight on bad ankle (core + thighs(esp. inner)are definite problem areas? Love your site! I have never in my entire life ever been able to stick to a sound and structured diet (it's either starvation or eat whatever I want) until I found your site. I am a 27 year old female, 5'2", started at 150.2, currently 145 and am completing your lose 20lbs in 4 weeks emergency diet. I have been sure to eat four times a day and exercise daily, including interval training, softball practice, aerobics and steady state cardio. I recently completed your 15 min circuit training workout (I was literally dripping sweat on the floor, it kicked my butt!). The question that I have is, I am sure to have two of my four meals based on protein powder (along with raw veggies/fruit), but my other two meals I allow to come from other low-fat, high-protein sources such as tuna, egg whites, chicken breast or tilapia (all in 100 cal portions). Do you think this will hinder the results that I achieve on the diet? I have already lost 5 pounds in the last 6 days, the rest I am sure will be more difficult. Do you think it is possible for someone with my stats to achieve a goal of 135lbs at the end of the diet? Also, can you recommend any weight training/circuit training that you think would suit best to someone that is 33% body fat and looking to lose some? I heard that weight training is best for fat loss. Thanks!!!!

Hi, Adrian, I am going through menopause and am gaining weight especially around my mid-section. I workout with weights 3 days a week and 3 days I am doing cardio. I am doing the Body for Life plan and eating the right foods.
I have been trying to eat more natural protein (rather than the RTD shakes). It seems like I am not toning at all and my lower abs are not going down at all.
Should I switch diets and do something totally different? Is there anything else that I can do?

I just need to clear something up. I did that building mass calculator thing you showed me, and it says eat 479-622 calories each of my 6 meals and 41-54 grams of protein per meal; however, if each gram of protein has 9 grams of calories, then 41 grams of protein is 369 grams of calories from protein then. Is that right? If that is right, then I only have 110 calories left to eat carbs and fat? How would that work out? Wouldn't I have to consume 30%-40% of calories from carbs?
I'm just a little confused, haha, or I'm just making it complicated. Please get back to me. I appreciate it!

Thanks for answering my endless amount of questions.
Now I gotta a few more for you. I've been thinking lately, that my body fat is pretty low right now (5'8'', 146lbs, 9% body fat), and now I want to focus on just building muscle mass without gaining fat. As far as workout wise, I know I'm just gonna go heavy now, and throw in a few sets of high reps to keep up my definition; however, as far as eating goes I might need a lot of clearing up from you. I'm still going to be eating six meals a day; however, I will be incorporating carbohydrates in all the first five meals, except for my last one which is just a protein shake at 8pm.
Meal #1 (8:30am): 2 eggs, 3 egg whites, & 1 cup of sugarless steel cut oatmeal.
Snack #1 (11:00am): 30g Protein shake (water and whey), 1 apple, & 1 serving of almonds.
Meal #2 (1:00pm): Lean chicken breast or lean steak, 2 slices of whole grain bread or brown rice or pasta, & salad.
Then I would go workout about an hour after meal #2...so that means I consumed complex carbs before my workout.
Snack #2 (Between 3:30-5:00pm): 30g Protein shake (but this shake is made of fat-free milk), & 2 apples.
Meal #3 (Between 6:00-7:00pm): Lean chicken or lean steak, brown rice, & salad.
Snack #3 (8:30pm): 30g Protein shake (whey and water)
That's my idea of a new meal plan. My questions for you are:
1. What do you think about it? Would you fix anything about it? If yes, then what?
2. I end of having about 200grams of protein in the day; however, I don't know how many grams of carbs I should have in my meal #1, #2, & #3. Can you tell me how many carbs I should consume?
3. My snacks are relatively just protein mixed with some simple carbs, except for the last one; however, what do you think about my snack #2? Is that enough carbs for a post workout meal, or should I add like a slice of whole grain bread?
The bottom line of this is to gain muscle mass with definition, without increasing my body fat. Please tell me if this is good enough or what I have to do extra to make it good. I'm really sorry for making for read all of this and you have no idea how much I appreciate you for doing this. Hope I hear from ya!

I am 24, almost 25 and had a baby 4 months ago, I'm not breastfeeding, I put on 50 pounds during my pregnancy and need to take it off, I've been cutting my calories to between 1200-1500 per day but I find myself going long spans throughout the day without eating, sometimes 4-7 hours, its hard with a full time job and a baby. Adrian, Thank you for your sight. It's awesome. I really need your help. I am 19, 5'1 and weigh about 124. I want to lose 10 lbs in exactly 4 weeks for a specific day. I want to do it quickly so that I won't get discouraged, but I also want to do it healthy. I'm thinking somewhere in the middle. If I have a set plan, I am able to stick to it. I was wondering if I should start on the lemonade diet for like 5 days to begin with (I have done it for 6 days before) or if I should start off my diet with a soup diet or something so that I can get motivated to keep going with instant results. My plan in my mind would to be workout for 30-60 min in the morning by running 6.0-7.0 mph then at night do a 24 hour class and swim or do like 15 more min of running on top of a class if the class ends up not being as intense as I would hope for. (TBK is intense, yoga.. not so much). My main thing is how many hours a day I should work out, how much intense running (fast) rather than a slower pace so I can slim down a bit-and also just the eating thing. 1. if your main goal is muscle growth you can increase the weights but usually circuits are for fat burning but you can really use the same weights and maintain the size you have now

3. I wouldn't neccesarily use circuits as a Bigger muscle building strategy
4. I would - but it's all up to your goals and which muscles you want to work on

Long time no questions for you. Now I have to pick your mind about some stuff. My workout and diet is going great. I was wondering, when you want to shock your muscles using circuits:
1. Should I increase weights after every circuit set? And if I don't, does it affect my muscle growth?
2. Since I already incorporate 2 or 3+ workouts in the circuit, should I also incorporate like a cardio-like workout to make it even more intense so more fat will be burn?
3. Since circuit is high intensity most of the time so it is aiming for burning fat, is it a good way to build muscle too?
4. When you do circuits or supersets, should you incorporate more than one muscle? (Ex: incline press, dumbell butterfly, pulley rows, alternating wide-grip pullups, & leap frogs)

Hi Adrian, I have just stumbled across your wonderful website. I am in the process of trying to lose weight again. I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week, and trying to diet. My concern is I have lost a significant amount of weight in the past by dieting and exercise, but my stomach is horrible to say the least. Im not sure but I dont think it is only fat but maybe skin???? I was at a point at one time when it looked like my stomach was trying to take some shape but I had all this stomach or skin like just there...is there any hope...I cant afford a tummy tuck...also before it was the bottom part of my stomach that was big...now my upper has overruled and almost makes the bottom look small. Little bit of history on me to help you answer my impossible questions...I had 4 children from the time I was 16yrs old to 21 yrs. had a tubal pregnancy in between those times and got my tubes tide at 21...now I am 41. I am thinking maybe hormones may have something to do with it. Please if you could give me some ideas or a direction to go in it would be greatly appriated. Thank You

I have hit a plateau. I am losing weight very slowly at this point. Usually
around 0.5 lbs a week. It's killing me.
To get to where I am now, I've been eating pretty cleanly (lean protein,
whole grains, vegetables and fruits) and exercising 5 times a week at night
after work. I was doing 45 min of cardio on the elliptical and stair climber
and then weight training 3 or 4 times a week. I've been eating regularly
every 3 hours or so.
Now I've dropped off to very slow weight loss. To try and break through the
plateau, I've broken up my work out into 2 trips to the gym daily. Once in
the morning at 6am to boost my metabolism for 30 minutes on the treadmill or
stair climber and then back again around 8pm after work to do another 15-20
minutes of cardio on the bike or stair climber and then weight training 3
nights a week.
I've been doing this for 2 weeks but my weight loss has not picked back up.
It's very slow. I thought switching up the machines and adding the morning
work out would work.
I think I'm eating around 1400 calories a day but I'm wondering if another
calories are coming from protein. Could this be my problem? I'm probably
getting about 25% of my calories from protein, if I had to guess.
My goal weight is 115 lbs and I'm so frustrated at the notion of having to
wait for this 13 lbs to come off at a rate of 1/2 a lb a week! Should I
start adding protein shakes to replace some carb calories?

Also, I would like to surprise him with a signifcant weight loss when he comes back to states from Japan in June. I have been dieting and exercising for the last month. At first I only exercised about and 1hr. a day and cut back on calories for the first week or so. About 2 wks. ago I started working out 2x a day. I work out about 4hrs. a day and eat about 1,000 calories. I have lost about 15 lbs. for the month of February, but would like to lose about 5 lbs. a week. I don't mind hard work or dieting, but would like to see a greater weight loss for all the hours I am exercising. I am wondering if I'm not eating enough for the amount of activity I am doing?! I do aerobics 2x a day and walk 4-5 miles. Then in the evening I usually do some of your exercises and lifts weights. I really like all of your suggestions and they are very practical. Do you think that you could help me or tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have a little over 3 months to make a difference before my honey gets home. I would appreciate any suggestions. Hi Adrian,
I have lost 30 pounds, but still want to lose 15-20 more pounds. I have been at the same weight for about 3-4 months and
cannot seem to lose anymore weight. I have tried all of your tips and watched your videos and I still am not losing the
weight. I eat about 1400-1500 calories a day, and work everyday, burning between 600-800 calories. I am 5'5, 158 pounds.
I started out at 190 lbs. Do you think I should just increase my workouts, maybe burning 1000 calories in each workout?

My problem; I gain a lot of weight taking large amount of prednisone for eleven months, now I can’t lose the weight
because I can workout my asthma is making me crazy. The slow exercises I can find are in the floor and I don’t
have flexibility on my right hand, the Dr. Remove 3 bones of my wrist. Diet doesn’t work alone and the metabolism
looks stuck, I hate the way I look and I’m really frustrated, what you recommend.

The smaller your waist line gets - the slower you'll lose fat so you may go from 32-to-28 quickly whereas...
It may take twice as long to go from 28-to-25 simply because the less fat you have = the slower you'll lose weight

Using your guidance, I've lost 15 lbs since the end of October. I'm currently 130 lbs (5' 3.5" female, 26 yrs old).
I'm wondering what my target weight should be. I'd like to look lean, muscular and skinny. I was thinking around 115 lbs?
I tend to be at least fairly muscular, and I have been doing a weight training program 4 days a week.

Your diet plan is great and basically you're losing weight by not exactly consciously cutting calories - you're really following these 8 rules eating higher
quality foods and...
The easy answer for your limited exercise is to just do intervals to burn more fat
in shorter time so...
You can do TWO morning & evening 20-to-45 minute intervals or...
One 30-to-45 minute interval to maximize fat burning in limited time

Before the New Years i started doing some of the exercises from your site to see what works better and few days ago I
started doing them again but if you could give me an advice that would be great..I cant say that i always have the same
time schedule but even if i have to wake up earlier i try to make some time in the morning, so normally i have about an
hour for exercises.
The reason why i gained weight is that i took hormonal pills for asthma and then had a wrong contraceptive that didn't
let my body get back to normal, which i changed only 3 month ago and since then without a lot of effort i lost one and a
half size... My diet is not very special cause i never ate much, i just stopped eating junk food and eat more fruits and
vegetables..but thats more thinking of my health rather then thinking to loos weight. I did try special diets but that
doesnt really work with me and since everything in my blood is in perfect condition my doctor told me not to do any
diets. My body type is somewhere between Jlo and Beyonce, there for the hardest parts to loos weight is my hips and
tummy...
Im going down in my weight but if there is something you can advise for it to go better Ill be happy.

Maybe you didn't do an exercise plan per say but...
Maybe the daily activity you did plus your diet contributed to muscle gain because...
When you gain weight and look better - muscle gain is the main reason.
Maybe your new diet included more lean proteins which maintained your muscle and helped burn more fat and really...
You should consider yourself lucky that all you did was "diet" to LOOK thinner but if you want to...
Tell me your current diet and available exercise time and..
I can suggest something you can do to make the scale go down but...
You're doing just fine if you're looking better

I was wondering...I lost some weight and went down one size, i was 42 and now im 40...everyone is telling me that it
shows a lot that a lost some weight..however, in kilos its not just that i didnt loose, i gained around 5 kilos... and it
been a month since i became one size smaller and this month i did not have time to exercise, so it can not be muscle

Including diet I was just wondering if this was a good exercise program:
5 days a week in the morning doing tae-bo with resistance bands for an hour and then in the evening doing pilates.
Questions:
If I'm using bands 5 days a week do i still need to tone my body using any weight training/ scultping exercise or is that
enough?
Should I do any ab exercise (and if so how many days a week) or any other additional/other exercises for that matter?
And how long till i see any results or definition in my stomach, arms or thighs since those are my problem areas?

First off I would like to say that I enjoy your site and all the information it provides. I could see that you have
helped many people and I thought that I could maybe give it a try. I am 18 years old, 5'2, and 125 pounds. I play
basketball about 2 times a week. I really have a problem with my thighs and flabby arms. Every time I try to focus on
these problem areas, they don't lose much fat, but they get muscular and I bulk up, which just makes my thighs look even
bigger than before. I really really really want to slim down my thunder thighs and flabby arms WITHOUT ANY BULKING UP. I
have struggled with my thick thighs for all of my teenage years so far..I just can't take it anymore. I want to be able
to look hot in short-shorts and at the beach...but I do not want to bulk up my legs. Under the fat..they are already
quite muscular. So my question is how can I make my thick thighs and flabby arms thinner without bulking up or making my

half. I was in a car accident 2 years ago, which left me with back and severe knee injuries, so doing lunges is very

I tried to lose weight and I have done few exercise (aerobic, bike, walking, jogging) on regular basis and also I ate
about 1250 calories perday.
I have lost 20lb within 1month and I really feel good about that. My problem is I have flabby arms and big thighs. Is
