that's up to you and your body but you can basically get the results you want doing this 3-4 times a week and the other days you can do more "light" cardio but also listen to your body so if you're sore - do nothing and dont push it

I'm 54 and work out about three times a week primarily by swimming or walking. However, I've noticed that I'm putting on weight and loosing muscle mass. Today I made it through one routine. But, I'll do two next time and hopefully three the following. Will I still see results and should I do cardio on the days inbetween or rest?

Hello, I am a 19 year old girl that needs to lose a little over 100 pounds to reach my target weight of 160lbs at 5'10" tall. I want to follow this plan - recently I have been following my friend's plan (she is a former marine) of running about half a mile every day, doing about 40 situps in 2 sets, and about 28 pushups in 4 sets. Although I have seen my fat all over my body decrease, it is extremely slow and my overall size really isn't changing (mostly because I eat a poor diet due to current financial constraints). I am a little more fit from this workout, but not very much, and I am afraid that doing this I will either gain too much muscle and not burn enough fat or possibly burn too much. Would doing this workout every day result in that (I'm willing to work as hard as possible to achieve my goal as soon as possible)? Or would it just help me lose faster? Thank you for this site and your information.

ok, so i'm over 40, and have joint issues, not to mention im about 50lbs overwieght. No way can I do this work out, atleast not right now. I have purchased wii fit and EA workout for wii with resistance ropes/wieghts. It has skiing, wts, all kinds of working out. I also don't have the space to do your crawling workout. Will I get good results with the wii. Not having a workout buddy is hard for me to keep motivated, so i'm hoping the wii will make it more interactive and fun. My worst place is my upper abdomen, the area above my belly button is bigger than my chest and lower abdomen, which makes pants unbarable. Im an apple. Not that the rest of me doesnt need to lose lots also, but to feel proportionate, i need to dump a lot of girth around my gut. Would the hula hoop excersice on wii be the best one to start with. Im going to have to start slow and work up as i havent worked out in 10 yrs (i know...) tyvm

i use the Elliptical machine. I start off warming up for 1 to 5 min the after that increase to 5 to 15min doing 4 to 5 mph, then i go for 15 to 20min at 5 to6 mph, then 20 to 45min at 6 to 7mph. and slow down at 45 min to 50min, i s this ok or do you have a better plan but i very comfortable with the elliptical. It all comes down to how many calories you are eating so basically...
Whenever you are not losing weight (at least 1-2 pounds a week) over 2 weeks...
You need to see how much you're eating and cut about 250 calories from your daily diet and/or do steps 1-thru-5 here and...

I have a few questions about the Weight Loss #1; first off all I do not have any dumbbells, should I just be doing the jump squats without dumbbells as I have been doing? I tried using cans of soup, but I am worried I will accidentally drop them.
Is there another exersise I can do instead of the ab crawl? I don't have enough room in my home, and I have a carpet floor so it just doesn't work even if I go back and forth.
I am mostly trying to lose weight and get rid of extra flab, and work on my abs as well.

Hey man, i just want to say thanks. I am a wrestler, and weighed in over the summer at 115, with my goal being 103 for my weight class that i dominate in. I did your workout to the max levels possible, (3x, then the hardest interval) and lost all that weight in 1 month! 1 MONTH! thanks alot man, i use this workout monday, wednesday, and friday, and it keeps me at peak performance. i highly recommend anyone to do this, but you HAVE TO DEDICATE YOURSELF TO IT.

I really can't predict how much weight you'll lose but I can tell you that since you're at your ideal weight - you should expect to lose no more than 2 pounds of FAT a week
If we do this work out (but instead of the ab crawl I do the ab plank) 3 days a week and eat sensibly (mostly veggies and fruits), howmuch weight will I lose by Jan. 31st? (Not overweight, I'm in my ideal body weight but would like to get leaner).
Also is there another alt. tot he push ups? Can I do more jumping jacks or ski steps or body weight/dumbbell squats? (I have weak arms and I cannot do it, and I don't feel right doing sissy pushups)

Adrian - Do you provide personal training out of curiosity? I have very good reasons for wanting to get into shape and fast....in the middle of a divorce where my husband cheated on me and is moving in with that person. I don't want him back. I would just like to feel better about myself. I'm not overweight (just need to lose about 10 pounds), but I'm out of shape with very little tone....please help, I want to like the physical person I see in the mirror because my self-esteem has bottomed out.

You may or may not gain leg muscle but YES... It is a chance you will because of the nature of the exercises in the workout so to remove any fears you have of packing on TOO much leg muscle...

I can't give you a definite answer as to when you'll lose all your belly fat but I can tell you...
YOU will lose weight fast at first and then as you steadily some closer to losing all your belly fat you'll still lose belly fat but you'll lose weight at a slower rate

This is the best plan for you to lose 10 pounds as fast as possible but...
Since you're at a low weight and since you already said you gained the 10 pounds since april (2-to-3 months aga)...
It may take you that long or maybe even shorter with the plan I gave you simply because you don't have too much weight to lose so...
Have confidence in the program and be patient because the weight will come off and...

I am a 16 yr old 5' 8' 120 lbs girl, and I typically weigh 110 lbs! . I am presently 16% body fat, typically 13%. Obviously in the past couple of months I have gained weight!! You may think i needed too, but many people have said that i look heavier just because i have a smaller frame. so The thing is I need/ want to lose those 10 lbs without gaining an incredible amount of muscle... in other words i would like to return to my norm weight without getting thick legs.. also as crazy as it sounds i do have a lil flab under the arms that i don't typically have and i have cellulite on my legs when i sit down... which i never have had until recently... HELP Me... i really need help.. i have a pageant coming up and i have to look good in that swimsuit!

Regualr biking on flatter surfaces (no hills) shouldn't add too much muscle to your legs and since biking helps you lose weight...

You may be able to get rid of ankle fat by trying ankle or "Tibialis Anterior" exercises or You can also do hill sprints to try to slim down ankles and Jumping rope is a also a good fat burning exercise that involves the ankles but...

I'm 19 and ridiculously over weight, topping in at around 265 lbs (jeez...) and I'm 5'4" tall.
All of my weight was gained over the past year due to a hormonal inbalance and border line thyroid issue, which is in check now.
I've had enough of being in a body that isn't supposed to be mine and need to get out as soon as possible. Would you recommend this regimen for me?
I was, at one point, taking Hoodia and Hydroxycut Hardcore, and it seemed to work for a while but I wasn't really on any work out regimen. Most of my weight is above my waist.

#1 - If you keep the weights light-to-moderate... you won't get bulky and...
#2 - since you're on a 'weight loss diet' you won't be getting big bulky muscles and...
#3 - you may build some muscle doing this or 'tone up' but it'll only make you look slimmer so for example... Let's say you did gain 5 pounds of muscle and the scale still says you weigh 145 pounds - you would now look like you weigh 135-to-140 pounds because muscle weights more than fat but takes way less space.
If you can't do the ab crawl - Do the ab planks and hold it for 1-to-2 minutes
Since you're not extremely overweight - it's possible you may lose 20 pounds in a month but I would shoot for a realistic goal of 10-to-20 pounds and...

The best advice i can give you is to be PATIENT becasue since you already look good and have low bodyfat and a low weight - it's going to take longer than 2 weeks for you to lose 10 pounds but...
The only advice I can give you for losing weight fast is...
You can try to lose 5 pounds of water weight which you may not have or... You could detox your body to lose weight
Also read why women of your weight lose weight much slower and by the way...

How are you? I weigh 116.6 pounds and my height is 5'6". My waist size is 28.
My target is to have 24 size waist and I would love to weigh 105.6 pounds, if possible within 2 weeks (since obese people seem to do it better than me..)
I feel this workout and many others are for really obese people. Even if I try to do I'm losing stamina - can you suggest some diet advise and workout advise for me pls?

Sissy pushups instead or Do pushups off a box like this and if that doesn't work -
I suggest you replace it with another upper body exercise here or skip that part of the routine
