I'm 5'6" and about 185 #. Most of my weight is belly fat, and I've been planning on getting super intense on getting rid of it, but now I'm four weeks pregnant. This is my eighth (and last)child. It seems each child stretches out the belly more and more. Anyway, I'm 42 years old and healthy. hey, im 13, 130 pounds, and 5'2". like u said, i excercise before breakfast (either run/walk a mile or hula hoop for an hour) then before lunch i do the weight loss video 1, before dinner i do the 2nd weight loss video, and after dinner i do some kinda strength workout. is this daily thing good enough to help me drop like 15 pounds in about 4 weeks?

Hello Adrian. I used to have a very nice, big and naturally lifted butt. I played basketball, ran track and played volleyball, and my butt still stayed. But I started doing interval training where i would jog at 4.5mph and then walk at 3.5mph. I lost my butt. I've gained weight since then, i weigh 184 now, i weighed 150-160 then, and i am 18 now. Is there someway that i could do interval training w/o losing my butt? My lower body is where i gain my weight.

I have tried a calorie intake 1600 -1700 calories a day and I still didn't lose any weight. I am now trying 1200 calorie intake if I don't lose weight I really don't know what to do.I weigh 244 and I am 5'6 black female this is all new to me I have never had a weight loss problem so I am very frustrated I've been watching my calorie intake and strength train twice a week and burning off 500 calories a day 6 day's a week. I am going to eat on the scale tomorrow and she want happens. But I am really scared that I will gain weight since this site is telling me I need to eat between 1631 to 2000 calories a day.to many site say to many thing about weight loss.

Hello.I have a very slow metabolism. My question is the following a co worker and I started a diet/working plan together. We have a balanced breakfast. A balanced lunch which consist of green salads chicken or fish, we both drink at least a gallon of water(sometimes more. I do one hour of medium-high impact step aerobics,3-5 times a week. My co-worker walks for an hour 3-5 times a week. The thing is that she losses approx 2-5lbs a week. Me on the other hand lose about 1 maybe 2lbs a week. Sometimes none at all. Can you tell me what can I do to lose weight faster.

i am having some issue. as i am still schooling, i have problem with RULE 3#. It's not possible for me to eat 3-4hrs a day as we are only given an hour lunch break and my school starts at 8am and ends only at 6pm. Are there any other ways to replace RULE 3#.

Another problem is I have some issue with eating breakfast in the early morning (6am). Everytime after eating i will feel neausea. And i usually eat bread with a cup of water. Because of this problem, i've been skipping breakfast for 3yrs.
Should i change what i eat?

Hi there. I'm pretty heavy, over 200lbs and 5'2". I'd like to lose weight, but most exercises are high impact on my knees, and my knees are really bad and easily get to the point where they're hurting me too much to even walk. I have an exercise bike (and it doesn't seem to hurt my knees too badly), but I'm not sure if that's the best exercise for me, and if it is, how long and how often I should be doing it.

This may sound silly but don't det down on yourself and NOT believe U can't lose weight because of hypothyroidsm and YES...

It may be hard (which it probably won't be!) but hard does not mean it can't be done.

Hi, I was wondering if you have any suggestions for losing weight with hypothyroidism. I asked my doctor about it and all she would say is it's going to be hard...helpful. I am only 27, I weigh 151-155 lbs--it varies constantly, and I am 5'3". I am on thyroid medication, which regulates my numbers, but am still finding it very hard to lose any weight and it keeps climbing. It was only 3 or 4 years ago that I was a size 1-3 and now I am pushing a size 12-14! I have 5 children and am always being told that that is why I weigh so much...but, I had 3 of them and was a size 1 coming home from the hospital after having number 3..lol Any advice you have would be great! I used to weight between 110 and 115 pounds before I got pregnant. 45 lbs later, it took me 15 months of breastfeeding to come back to 118. I was so happy and then when I stopped breastfeeding I started putting on weight. I am at 128 now and at 5 feet 2inches, I have the biggest belly anyone has ever seen. Don't estimate and try to be as exact as you can with your calories and for you weight & height - you need to be eating 1200-to-1500 calories daily to lose weight and...

i am aiming to lose 20 pounds. Currently i am jogging about 40-50mins a day.
Typical breakfast will be oatmeal and 2 slices of bread. AM snack an apple. Lunch will be veges and meat. PM Snack will be apple. Dinner (usually after gym around 9pm) will be veges and meat.

You may still be able to overindulge if you just simply watch your calorie intake so...

I used to be a competitive swimmer, training 7+ times/week for 2 hours, plus weight training on top of that. I quit about 2 weeks ago because I'm in university and want to have a life outside of the pool. However I'm worried that since my body's used to working out soooo often, if I just work out 3 or 4 times a week I'll gain weight quickly regardless. I'm used to being able to eat whatever I want so it's very hard for me to cut out everything bad (like chocolate =)..), what would you recommend? Thanks

Well I'm 5'10 and a half (180cm or so) and I am 13.5 stone (89kg, 189 pounds) I'm not obese but I'm definitely overweight but don't look it in clothes and I must work on it. I'm a size 36 in jeans and must get down to size 32. I'm currently knocking out 6 miles a day power walking and jogging and having cornflakes and 2 eggs in the morning, cornflakes at lunch and a decent meal for dinner. I cut down so much from eating takeaways and drinking beer and coke and all that good stuff, i mean bad stuff. But more help please

I think this is an excellent site. I have tried to build a workout routine based on the videos and exercises that you have listed here. I am unable to workout first thing in the morning because I have to get my children ready to leave the house at 5:30a. Waking up any earlier is not an option. Ok, so you've redirected me to here so I'm thinking up of a diet that SEEMS pretty good, but I am not sure.
Breakfast- Special K Cinnamon Pecan Cereal with homemade fresh apple smoothie(juiced at home and blended only with yogurt)
Lunch- Chicken Caesar Sandwich(Healthy Italian Bread that I found, I think it's 20 calories for 1 slice or 20 calores for 2 slices not sure, white chicken, and low fat caesar dressing or condiment etc.) with water and an apple.
Dinner- not sure what to eat, any ideas? I'll eat anything that has nothing to do with ANY vegetables except for peas , I have my vitamins for that, doctor gave em to me.

Ok so, that's what I'm THINKING of eating but, if you must modify it or substitue etc. go ahead but for no vegetables, I have vitamins lol ok well thx for all the help, write back soon! And sorry it's long!

So i'm a female, 5'4 and overweight. I'm trying to create a weight loss plan for myself. I don't plan on joining a gym anytime soon so the exercise would be done in my home and outside.

I love curves and am striving for a tone body with curves. I know I might have to do one thing at a time to get to this goal.

Well anyways...Do you think the following plan is good enough for me to lose fat (20 pounds by the end of the year)? I want to find a routine that I can do for a month straight so I can make exercise a habit, then I was going to do other hardcore stuff after that.

Couch to 5k (running 3x a week)

Your Interval training workout 2-3x a week(the squatting with the weights thing followed by some interval training)

Push ups (I'm not good at these so i'm doing a challenge so I can get better.

Walking 5x's a week 30-60 mins.

And Yoga. I tend to have a good night sleep when I do this before bed.

I am 5'6, 22 years old and weigh 160 right now. For the past month and a half I have been going to the gym 6-7 days a week for 3 hours a day....burning 700-900 calories a day on the treadmill and eating healthy (salads, veggies, fruits, water, etc) I carry my weight in my hips & legs....what am I doing wrong? Yes - Morning workouts are better - Read why but whether you burn 3 times more calories is debatable and I doubt you'd burn 3000 calories doing tae-bo no matter what time you train

It's because I sleep 9pm and wake up 5am every day. It's hard for me to eat 12 am then sleep and then eat at 4am..but anyway thanks to your 8 EZ rule I lose a pound just a day. Since you've been doing this for 2 weeks... Do you notice you look or feel any better regardless of what the scale says? - You could be getter leaner by adding some muscle that makes you look slimmer but this won't show up on a weight scale but...

Based on your information for eating 4 small meals a day, the information based on my age, height, and weight told me to eat between 345-451 calories...do I count the proteins that are in the whey protein drink and vegetables/fruits that we are supposed to be eating before the meal or is the suggested calories just in the meal alone? I am 5'2 at 154 pounds and I started my diet two weeks ago doing 3 miles of walking 5 days a week and 50 minutes of Taebo cardio in the evening and drinking 70 oz of water. I haven't loss any weight...what am I doing wrong?

hi Adrian.I weight 345lbs and I'm 5'1',I'm trying to see if I could loose weight on my on without having gastric bypass surgery.I've started having an glass of EAS soy protein mix with skim milk,1 can of v-8 juice(5.5oz,hot'n'spicey),a fruit containing vitamin c(sometimes in the can)but not drinking the juice,in the morning.For lunch a low carb wrap and fruit, and a sensible dinner and always plenty of water after and between meals 30 min.of cardio daily.Is this a good plan for me or do I need to make some changes to see results.

You will lose weight at a slower rate as you get skinnier so it's going take patience and determination on your part to reach your goal of being just 104 pounds and by the way...

You weight is fine, you're not overweight and you already look good but if you insist on losing more weight...

You are doing nothing wrong and losing 4 pounds in 2 weeks at your weight & height is good because since you're not that overweight...

Your weight loss pace is going to be slower than a overweight persons and...

You should just keep doing what're doing to lose 1-2 pounds a week and if you ever get stuck - Read 10 ways to quickly break out of a weight loss plateau or contact me but in closing...

You should only expect a 1-2 pound weight loss per week for your weight & height

I posted a question earlier but it seems to have disappeared.

I love your site and have found so much info here over the past couple of days. I’m addicted to it!

Anyway, I’m 25, 5’ 5” weigh 139lbs but feel very overweight because I have 30% body fat. I’m slim on top but I’ve a lot of fat on my stomach and hips.

For the past two weeks I have been sticking to a diet of 1200 – 1400 cals a day consisting of all fresh unprocessed food and I’ve also been increasing my protein intake and cut out coffee and alcohol. Along with this I’ve been doing at least an hour of cardio a day plus circuit training every day. Just recently I’ve added some of your toning exercises for the different areas of my body.

I’ve only lost 4lbs in the past two weeks and I feel like I should be losing a lot more for the effort I’m putting in. Am I doing something wrong? I want to get down to 119lb and reduce my body fat by September.

I stumbled onto your site, very informative by the way. Loads of helpful information. My dilemna is this I think I have put my body in starvation mode for the past 2 years.

I changed gym in June 06, they told no weight training focus on cardio only. In 2 years time, I've gained 33 pounds, I've gone from 205 to 238. No matter how much cardio, drink my water, or watch my calories I have not been able to lose weight.

My daily intake is between 1300 and 1800 based on your site I'm classified as VERY ACTIVE and should be eating much more please confirm. I am 45 years old, 5 feet tall.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated !!!
