I am 20 years old and I had a baby 4 1/2 months ago. before I got pregnant I weighted In at 130-135 I’m 5’5. When I was 9 months pregnant I was weighing in at 215 gaining a total of 75 pounds. I now weigh 175 and I need to get back down to my original weight. I try and work out at least three times a week but its so hard with a four month old. Please help me I’m desperate.

Hi Adrian,
I used to weigh 160lbs. I've been working out for about 6 months now and Now I weigh 140. Ive been disciplined in going to the gym atleast 6 days a week with a cheat day. Ive also managed to eat 6 smaller meals during the day with more protein content for muscle building. I do my 30-45 minutes of cardio on the tread and then i do strength training. My goal is to weigh about 130lbs. Ive noticed that my arms, legs, thighs are really toned and strong now. My problem areas are my stomach and back. I just have this layer of fat that i just cant get rid of. Ive been doing the ab exercises and rotuines but i havent seen results. Im not sure if ive hit a platuae but i really would like to have a flatter stomach. any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey Adrian, I've been going to the gym for 4 months now and have toned up and put some muscle on, for the last few months I've been having protein supplements and while my arms have got bigger my belly has also gotten bigger. I'm currently at 18% Body fat, I'm looking for a way to lose my belly fat but keep the muscle I have recently put on. Any suggestions or workout plans I should follow?

I am currently weighing in at 120 and I use to be curvacious and weigh btwn 126-130 and I had a nice round butt. I am completely flat right now and I'm trying to eat more to gain weight so that I can get curvacious again, but I've always gained weight in my stomach first. So I have a belly now and I'm trying to get rid of it but I dont' want to lose weight. I eat very healthy as I read a lof of nutrition magazines and health articles and I've read your article on what foods not to eat and I really don't eat any of that stuff so I dont' know why I can't lose my belly fat..How can I lose my belly fat and gain the weight that I want and tone up on my butt... Please help.

I am 43 years old. Due to a lot of enteratining and indulging in cocktails, I have lost my six pack -- no pun intended! I used to be 115-120. I'm 5'5 1/2" and now way 132 I still like to have a couple of drinks a night. I'm back to running and excercising everyday. Can i lose it and still have drinks during dinner/evening.

Actually 35% is considered overweight for woman and yes...

you need to lose more fat (not weight exaclty) to get abs to show so for you...

Hello Adrian,

Love your site just had a question.
I'm 5'7 130 pounds with a 29 inch waist. My goal body would by 120 pounds of lean muscle. Right now I'm mainly working on toning & sculpting my body. I saw you said in order to get the muscles in your abs to show women generally need a body fat percentage between 14-20%. I checked my body fat percentage on your calculator & I'm 25.33% which on the chart is considered very high fat. I didn't even consider my self overweight. Does this mean I would have to loose the 10 pounds before the muscles in my abs will show?

PS- My thanks for the "make your butt bigger" exercises. I have always had a flat butt, gonna start those exercises today!

I'm 29yrs old, 5ft 3in and 240lbs. I look like I'm permanently pregnant. I have small arms and muscular legs. My tummy hangs low and begins under my chest. I need to lift my belly and flatten it. JENNY: I am in the same boat as you! I have lost, gone down a size in clothing but no one can tell because of my excess fat around my midsection. I had three kids in four years. My hubby who is a doc says the same thing that Adrian said to you. I just discovered this site and he confirms everything that my hubby says. It sounds like you're already really lean and have a little bit of stubborn fat left and the good news is you can lose it but the bad news is that...

Since you're lean it's going to take longer than a weak to lose your last few pounds of stubborn fat but...

At 120 pounds - chances are very high that you are not even overweight at all and since you are not overweight YOU WILL have to exercise to keep losing weight and underweight or normal weight people can not lose weight real fast simply because they don't have much weight to lose

im 18 weighing gabout 120. tryna to lose the 20 lbs, im just starting your diet plan. if i dont do the work out, would the diet still work? how fast can it go away without the workout?

I am 15 years old I weigh 173 pounds and i'm 5'3. I have been trying to workout now. I wanna lose 50 pounds in atleast 4 months, but the sooner the better!I have a hypothyroidism problem and I gotta take pills everyday. And since I have a really low metabolism I was wondering if there was anything to help, because I cannot find anything that will help me. But I also have a 8 month old son too, so maybe there some workouts I can do with him? Thanks.

These exercises help get rid of the muffin top but when you lose belly fat - your muffin top will go away as well

You talk about how to burn the fat on the stomach and how to get flat abs, but I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to get rid of the fat that is on the side of the stomach that sits on my hips? The place where people sometimes call it the muffin top if it gets really big, I would really like an exercise that would get rid of it if you had one. Thank You
