Easy leg exercise for to get firmer thighs & hips at home

The main thing to remember about step ups is that the higher the step is... the more of a Butt & thigh workout you get and the lower the step is the more of thigh only workout you get and...

The main thing to remember while doing step ups is to place the toes of the non-working leg pointing upward on a thick phone book like I'm doing in the video above so you won't cheat yourself out of getting a better workout.

3 ways to get a better butt blasting workout with step ups

  1. Beginners can swing the non-working leg backward as you push your self upward with your working leg and once you've stepped up with the working leg - Squeeze the butt muscles of the non-working leg for 2-to-5 seconds and repeat 8-to-12 times on each leg.
  2. Advanced can use dumbbells, weight vest, or a book bag filled with weights for added resistance for 8-to-12 reps.
  3. You could do combination step-up with a single leg Romanian deadlift at the end watch the last part of the video above. This should be done using a lower step until you're able to use higher steps and...

You should feel it all over your legs because... as you step up you'll feel it in your thighs and as you do the 2nd part (the single leg Romanian deadlift) you'll really feel it in your but, hips, and hamstrings.

What exercise will help to tone the flabbiness of upper thighs?

Try hill sprints or hill intervals to firm up that area + burn off fat

Adrian:

I'm 44 years old, 5'4" and 117 lbs. I know my weight is in the right range, but ever since I hit 40, my body has changed and the old ways of keeping in shape don't work. My biggest problem is (like everyone else here) my butt and thighs (although my stomach is now poochy and flabby too after having a child). The thing that bothers me most is the area just above my butt, just below my lower back, and a little to the side. Sort of the "saddle bag" area. I have ALWAYS had extra fat there (so does my sister, and I see it in my daughter already!). I can never seem to find an effective way to get rid of that fat. I've even considered lipo!

Any suggestions?

Do you have any exercises just for your hips and muffin top and I mean just to tone not lose? I love my butt and thighs and don't want to decrease or musclarize them at all - sorry commenting again is there any way to actually make your hips bigger and curvier?

delbrow22,

To maintain your curves while losing wight - you simple have to do targeted exercises while losing weight to keep your curves but keep this in mind also...

When you lose fat (as you lose weight)like around your butt area for example... you will lose some 'curvyness' in your butt area since you lost fat but... - if you do butt exercises while losing weight you'll maintain your sexy curves

Hinda,

what's your height & weight?

If you lose weight (fat weight) then your hips and the other places of your body should look smaller and if your goal is smaller hips - you want to avoid leg toning exercises and just Foucs on weight loss activities

Hi.. I have this problem. I have realy huge hips and they're torturing me. I'm ready to do anything to get rid of them but I don't know how. when I go to gym, I lose some weight and that only make them more big and beetle
