Are there any exercises that can help shape up outer thighs?

go here to get rid of cellulite

Adrian Bryant | 05.02.09 - 9:43 am

Hi. I'm 14 and i weigh 124-128(it varies). The only problem i have is my thighs. I actually have cellulite and i'd really like to get rid of it. What workout would be best for me?

Brittany | 05.01.09 - 3:43 pm

mimi,

It won't shrink your hips.

It'll only make them firmer and rounder (better looking) and/or make them bigger if you use heavy weights.

Only weight loss with diet & exercise will burn fat around hips and make your hips shrink

Adrian Bryant | 04.13.09 - 1:04 pm

will this exercise help shrink my hips or just make them bigger?

Hi Adrian,

I'm 5'9" 133lbs and have a BMI of 13%. I am looking to tone the following: stomach, legs, thighs, hips, butt, triceps and biceps. I love all the workouts you have online, however I'm not sure which ones will benefit me the most. I need help with creating a weekly workout routine. Can you help me?

Thank you for creating such an awesome site!

Beth,

The best kind of exercises to do are here but as for your knee problems - have you seen a therapist about that or what about using an arm bike?

Look at this entire video here to understand what I mean by an arm bike

Hi, I'm 18 years old and weigh almost 200 lbs and I want to change that desperately. Lately Ive been eating well, but my problem is I don't know what kind of exercises to do. I have both painful knee problems(some minor ones in other joints) and asthma. If you have any advice on what I should do that would be great =].

Are you allowed to do leg exercises without pain?

#175
Hi, I am 5'10" tall and have long legs. A few months ago, I was in a car accident and I am having surgery next month on my right knee to repair a torn meniscus & broken patella. Will be off of work (at home) for 2 months and would like to work on toning my legs during this time. Any suggestions?? Thank you!!

missy,

NO - if you don't have hills - Do the jessica Biel Workout instead

#173
If you do not have a hill around, can you do J-Lo's workout on a treadmill?

paddy,

If you're trying to reduce fat on your hips - fat loss is all you can do (see NowLoss.com) but...

any of the hip exercises here done with light weight can make your hips look smaller thru toning but...

Doing hill sprints is the best thing you can do because you'll burn fat off your hips + tone them at sametime

#171
Frnd plz help me i want to reduce my hips. will bodyweight sqauts do it?

Kymi,

Use heavier weights and do about 5-to-8 sets using 3-to-8 reps and do once a week

#165
How could I gain inches on my butt fast?

Kymi | 12.23.08 - 8:57 am
#164

Kymi,

You gaining inches FAST depends mainly on...

How out of a shape you are and/or if you're used to doing butt exercises and if you're out of shape or not used to doing butt exercises then YES...

You may see FAST results like that doing anykind of butt exercise and also...

The amount of weights you use - the heavier and the more moderate rep range (5-to-10reps) = faster results but do no more than twice a week and...

All those exercises you mentioned do work your butt BUT most of those exercises are not needed like the donkey kicks, side leg raises, and upper body raises because all they're going to do is tone (give a better shape) and not add any inches.

#163
HI again. I have a couple of more questions to ask about getting a bigger rounder butt. I looked up some other butt excercises and what they asked me to do. THey are promising to help gain 4 inches to my butt in 2 weeeks, please tell me what you think- they are- donkey kicks, side leg raises, step ups, walking lunges, one legged bench squat, pelvic thrusts and upper body raises. They ask that I do as many reps as i can the first set then repeat the same amount of reps the second set and then go to the point of failure the third set of each excercise. it also requires that I increase the protien in my diet and use weights. Are these things something that will help me gain inches on my butt fast because I'm looking to gain 4-5 inches in a couple of weeks.

swtnss,

There's many more alternative butt exercises here

#161

Hi,
The top/middle area of my butt is really flat and I really want to do the pillow exercise but i dont have much room in my home to fully stretch out my legs to do it. Would kick-backs be a good subsitute. Please tell what other option to do to really target the stubborn top part of my butt. thanks.

samantha,

It mostly depends on how heavy weights you use although some people gain inches using higher reps instead of heavier weights and higher reps usually works for beginners at first anyway

#159
how many inches will my butt grow?

You need to focus more on doing this diet plan to gain weight

#157
Most people workout because they're trying to loose weight. my problem is i'm trying to gain muscle weight and nothing seems to work. i am 5'8 and 111 pounds which is underweight and it would really help if i knew what workouts to focus on.

Kelly,

Only Whey protein but you'll still have to do the right butt workouts to make your butt bigger

#155
Are there supplements to help in making your booty looking bigger or eating estrogen -like foods.

Kymi,

Do the "Thursday" part of the J-Lo workout on MONDAY and do the Jessica Biel workout on Thursday and as for weight sizes...

You want to use heavier weights for the bulgarian squats on MONDAY for the J-Lo workout and...

You can want to use moderate-to-heavy weights for the Jessica Biel workout and the best time to eat to promote butt 'muscle' growth is right after your butt workout

#151
Thank you for answering my question with such haste. I have another concern, if I am 5'3 around 125 what size weights should I use and How often do I do the J-Lo butt plan and since I do not have any hills to run up I will be doing the jessica biel butt workout. How often do I do the two workout plans and what days should I do the excercises and how often. Also someone told me in order to get the best results for my butt I should eat at certain times, what times would those be?

Need to get in shape ASAP,

Doing 1-to-3 of the butt exercises here will firm up your butt

#149
My butt is flabby it's like the potential is there but gravity has not been kind to me after having four kids. There's just no firmness left you know? Will these excercises really work? I am 5 10, 165 pounds with no previous workout experience. 30 years old. People tell me I am beautiful but I am very unhappy with my body once naked. HELP!

Kymi,

from what you're telling me it seems like your butt curves were mostly fat and once you lost overall body weight including butt fat you lost your butt curves also so...

You can do a bigger butt plan like the J-Lo plan here to get a bigger muscular, rounder & sexier butt

#143
Hello I just had a daughter 5 months ago. And quickly regained my former shape. People think that I should be happy for this but I am very disappointed. I enjoyed having the curvy body that pregnancy granted me. I am currently breastfeeding and trying to gain a larger butt, but I can't seem to gain weight or a backside. Is breastfeeding taking away from the potential body that I could have, or can I still obtain the figure I want while nursing?

Kaitlin,

you won't lose your butt working it out twice a week and the worse that'll happen is that you'll maintain your current butt size

#141

I am 5'1" and 102 I work out pretty regularly. On alot of the exercises you say only too do them two times a week. and I workout like 4 or 5 times a week, and I usually pick 4 to 6 different leg and butt workouts to do each time, am I over working my butt? I have a big butt for my body and I dont want to loose it.

I really Love your website!! Thanks
