Whey Protein is the best diet shake men can use to burn fat & build muscle

Follow these guidelines to burn fat & build muscle with whey protein...

6 reasons why men need whey protein

  1. Whey protein helps you burn fat & build muscle

The amino acids in whey protein help you gain muscle by releasing growth hormones naturally and... these same amino acids are used as ingredients in fat burners to help people lose weight fast.
  2. Whey protein helps you release appetite suppressing hormones.

Studies support the fact whey protein is better at suppressing your appetite than milk or egg protein and... The more you can suppress your appetite - the more weight you'll lose.
  3. Your body burns more calories digesting whey protein than other foods.
  4. Whey protein makes it easier for the body to burn fat.

Protein slows the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream. This reduces hunger by lowering insulin levels and making it easier for the body to burn fat.
  5. Whey protein is rich in leucine.

Leucine preserves lean muscle tissue while promoting fat loss. Whey protein has way more leucine in it than any other protein.
  6. Why whey protein is best:

Each type of protein has a specific biological value. The higher the value, the better it works. Whey protein has the highest biological value (bv) of any protein (104).

Beef has a bv of (80) and soy protein with a bv of (74). That means whey protein is 23% more effective than beef and 29% more effective than soy protein at helping you body build lean muscle while losing weight.
Start drinking whey protein right now
Optimum Nutrition's whey protein has amino acids like Glutamine, Arginine, Lysine, Taurine, Ornithine in it and...

All of these amino acids are used as fat burning ingredients in weight loss pills and these amino acids also help you release growth hormone Naturally so you'll look and feel younger.

Hi,

My husband and I are trying to lose weight. Can we use the same whey protein. I exercise but he does not exercise at all. Only normal everyday tasks. Will he gain weight if he follows the two vegetable/fruit and whey shake diet if he is not exercising? I don't want him to gain weight, I have heard you gain weight if you take protein shakes and dont exercise. Is this true?

Do the weights only once by doing it one time at night

Dont worry about WHEN to take the whey but...

Just take whey as a supplement and use it whenever you dont have time to make meals or for convience

I bought the GNC 100% Whey Protein and i'm taking 1 scoop when i wake up, and 1 scoop after i work out, usually 8pm - 9pm.
Since on Monday i'm starting my own summer weight loss plan, starting at 6:30 - 7:30 interval cardio; sprinting straights and jogging/running the curbs. Is it too much stress on my body if I do that, then after go home and do dumbbell workouts + Abs, and then at night do the same dumbbell + abs?.. When should I take the whey protein, right away when i get up or after im done with cardio and dumbbell+abs?

Rene | 06.13.09 - 11:03 pm

sam | 05.29.09 - 12:32 pm

sam,

You should take 1-to-1.5 grams of protein (of any protein) per pound you weigh

Adrian Bryant | 05.26.09 - 10:09 pm

I use to play football years ago.
Use to be built like the incredible hulk, and now I'm built
like The Frig. Can using the whey
product along with eating right, and exercising good for losing the
weight? at 46 it is hard to get back into the swing of things. I'm
not try to look like the hulk again, but if I can get down to Tyler Perry's weight, I'd be happy.

golfrockstr,

If you're trying to gain muscle then yes... it's best to have your protein after you workout so your muscles can recover and grow faster

#15
should i drink whey protein before or after a workout? i have heard some say right after, because your muscles need it. i have lost 50 pounds on weight watchers and as a man i felt my muscle weakening. the program encourage working out or activity everyday. i started lifting to help with muscle gain and weight loss. i drink 2-3 servings a day. is this ok.

new_me83,

The only reason you'd gain weight is if you ate too much so go here to see if you were eating the right amount of calories or...

You could have gained some muscle in your upper body from working out

#11

cfranklinlvn,

Protein PERIOD is good and one really isn't better for anyone but...

Soy protein has many other non-weight loss benefits which women may find useful like for example... Soy Protein contains lecthin which helps women get rid of cellulite and You can go here to see the other benefits soy protein has for women

#9
As a woman who's had gastric bypass surgery, I use Whey Protein as a primary source of protein in the morning because I'm not a breakfast or true morning person. Is whey protein or soy protein better for women?

Bob,

Whey protein is good for weight loss, and gaining muscle and like I said...

The only thing that causes weight gain is eating too much and being inactive so...

Losing 15 pounds and toning up can be helped out by eating protein & drinking whey protein.

#7
Hello there, i love your site and its helped me a lot. I was looking at the labels on various bottles of whey protein and they said "do not use for weight loss" but you have it listed to use it for weight loss, so is it good or bad for weight loss? And help would be great. I am doing the 30 day shred with jillian michaels as you had advertised on your site. I just trying to lose some weight and tone up about 15 lbs. But i was going to buy they whey protein but it said its not good for weight loos. So can you help me out at all? Is it ok to take or is it bad to take? If you are trying to lose 15 lbs and trying to tone up? by the way i am 5 foot 6 and 3/4 and weigh 163.6 lbs. And every bmi chart i have looked at says i am over weight. So hence i don't want to be over weight. Plus in January i quit smoking. Thanks for all your help. Take care

The only thing that causes weight gain is eating too much and little activity so...

NO - whey protien nor protein bars make you gain weight - eating way too much food in general makes you gain weight.

#5
I used to eat protein bars while playing collegiate basketball and I think I gained a lot of weight from it. I'm afraid to ever touch things like that ever again. Will whey protein promote weight gain? I'm a female. Or could your promise me that this will help me lose weight? I'm definitely going to give your diet plan. I've been through worse.

Yes - you can take whey OR soy to help with weight loss - it's just that soy has some benefits for women other than weight loss like preventing water weight gain during menopause

#3
I found the 20 lbs. in 3-4 week diet and was just reading it over, and said soy protien is for women and the whey protien is for men.Is it okay for me to be taking the whey? That's the kind I already have.

kevkid59,

It depends on what kind you get I guess but... the kind i use has to be drinked shortly after mixing

#1

Do you really have to drink whey protein immediatly right after you mix it?

Hi, I am 16 years old and I weigh 115lbs. I work out for about an hour on weekdays (at about 4:35pm) and I have been trying to develop my abdominal muscles but I cant seem to develop them. I have a pretty flat stomach and I can see faint lines, but I sometimes have a "pooch" on my lower stomach. I don't know if that's bloating or what. My question is how can I develop my abs but not add any muscle or fat onto my legs? (they are already pretty muscular) Do I just take whey in the morning and just not exercise my legs, or what?
Thanks,

Hannah

I think you need to update this article a bit to prevent misleading people about Soy being inferior for men. Specifically with the fact that Soy Protein Isolate is now available these days in the market and is a very viable form of Whey protein alternative, much so then regular soy powder you have shown here. Soy Protein Isolate is not only cheaper, but is superior to both Beef and Whey Protein concentrate with its BV values close to 97-99% vs 100%+ for Whey Protein isolate (only). PDCAAS measurements of Soy Protein Isolate places it at 1.0, equal to eggs and Whey Protein Isolate (rounded down).

After reading about dieting journals written by nutritionists and the medical community, it is also noted that phyto-estrogens in Soy Protein is tissue specific, meaning it does not "mess" with the hormone levels of male users as previously thought.

With Whey prices skyrocketing these days, consumers deserve to know the competitiveness of Soy Protein Isolate (readily available) vs. Whey Protein Isolate (expensive and not often found in mainstream protein powders ... which use Whey Protein Concentrate).
