Adrian Bryant | 05.29.09 - 10:45 am

hi,dribble again,
i am not saying that squats made my knees worse but actually what i did was not effective..i held something for support n bent my knees fully n i did it on just my toes n not the whole feet flat on the ground(like ur tryin to sit but on your toes)

ive heard wall squats will help in which we hold the squatting position for sometime n then straight back again while supporting ur back with a wall
i hope im clear to u

Deep squats below paralell are actually the best thing you can do for stronger legs/knees but in your case...

If you say squats made you knees worse - you may want to seek help from a physical therapist

Adrian Bryant | 05.27.09 - 9:50 am

hello,
are there isolation exercises for the knees bcoz i have really dreadful n super weak knees.
actually i used to do wrong squats ..ie..i went below the parallel n i had to hold some6thing for support .
due to which my lower quads have grown thick which i did not want ..but the knees are aweful .well ive heard of squats. can u suggest me something please.

Adrian Bryant | 04.04.09 - 5:04 pm

Hi Adrian. I'm an overweight woman and I'm more serious now than I ever was to lose weight and your site has inspired me, but I do have a problem that hopefully you can help me with. You see I am not able to do pushups at all due to me not having strength in my arms. I tried doing the chair push ups like in your video and my arms get shakey and give out and I end up falling (didn't get hurt though) but I was just wondering if there's anything you can suggest that would help enable me to do pushups or something that will work just as well as a push up for now until I am able to do? I need help I just can't do push ups

We should all realize by now that men have a lot more testosterone than women and therefore have much greater strength potential than women. Nobody is being sexist... they're being real!

josie,

I'm sorry if I came off as being sexist but generally in my experience...

Most of the woman I have personally trained were only able to do this exercise after building up strength by doing other chest exercises

#9

i have 1 question: why would you put "Ladies:
If you have a hard time doing elevated push ups to build beautiful shoulders, a firmer chest, and sculpted arms... You need to stick to doing regular pushups or you can do these other exercises here to get nicer looking arms, firmer chest, and shoulders..."
but for the guys you put "Guys:
Use a weight vest or a book bag filled with extra weight to turn elevated pushups into a good mass building exercise for your chest-shoulders-and triceps and...

Once you get good at doing elevated push ups... You can also do handstand pushups for bigger-wider-stronger shoulders." frankly i think that is totally sexist

Here's some more ab exercises you can do

#7

I started this summer to work with carpentry and i began to get some muscle in my arms!
But the only problem that i have is that i still can't find many exercises to make my abs tighten so i can continue doing it when college starts and not lose what i've worked for
I have pretty strong legs but i need to get my upper body some sculpting shapes that will complement my clothing, is there any exercises that can get me to lose like 15lbs and begin to get flatter/tighter belly in 5 to 6 weeks?
Sorry i forgot to tell you my profile
Im 6'1" tall
19 years old
177lbs
Thanks Buddy

Gustavo,

You can either...

Keep losing weight or overall body fat by doing what you've been doing to lose weight to lose man boobs and/or...

You can do this workout plan to get rid of man boobs here to firm up your chest area to reduce the appearance of manly boobs and...

You won't gain too much muscle if you just use your bodyweight or light weights and higher reps when doing the chest exercises

#5

Hey!!!
I have a question on how to lose man boobs!!!
I have previously read other exercises that are posted on the website, but they all talk about gaining chest size.
In my case i want to lose the chest fat so then when i work out it doesn't look too big.
I would be really thankful if you could help me!
I've lost some weight this spring and summer, but now I'm happier with the way my body looks and the only thing I don't like is that my man boobs make me look fatter and I've never been really fat (fattest was 5'8 and 192lbs)and now I'm (6'0 and 175lbs)
II hope you can help me

Colin,

As long as both your right and left arms are being built up - then there's nothing you should worry about and what you're going thru is naturally since most beginners feel the muscles of their dominant arm working more than their non-dominant arm and you could correct this by focusing more attention on your left arm by conciously pushing more with your left arm when doing push ups and/or

Instead of doing pushups or barbell exercises - you can do dummbell or single arm movements to also help both arms get equal attention

#3
i dont know when ever i do any kind of pushups i mostly feel it in my right arm not the left. what should i be doing differently?

Shafik,

It depends on your goals - If you're tryingto get bigger muscles - You need to do maybe 5-to-10 reps with added weight or do 5-10 reps with just your bodyweight and if you're going to this everyday then... you can probably do 2-to-3 sets everyday

thank you very much for all.
my qusetion is ?
how numbers i should do every day
and how many set?
by the way i have power to do it every day .
thank you...........
